Teen Fears Honor Killing by Muslim Father

How did you find out?

The first time I read one of your posts. You basically attacked me and predicted that I wouldn't last long on this forum. I remember saying to myself, wow what a nut case and I bet she probably pretends to be a Muslim too. Sure enough a few posts later there you were claiming to be a Muslim.

Indeed, I can't count how may alter egos on the Internet I have run into of clueless people like you for some reason pretending to be a Muslim and most of them for some reason have been female too, although, I do recall running into a few males as well. As a matter of fact, I have run into so many of you guys, that I can sniff you guys out more than a kilometer away.

There is a difference between a secular Jew and a religious Jew. For Jews, culture and religion can be separate.

Thats a great thing. I believe anyone with a religion can be secular. But, an Atheist Jew? Come on! Its like those really annoying things i hear, for example, i have a friend who is half Albanian and Polish and his like "yeah man im half Christian and Muslim". Uhmm, life fail.

Remember this...post #150?

We have lots of them here. Some one born into a Jewish family, of Jewish descent, but who does not believe in the Jewish faith.

I'm sure that there is something we could morph this thread into. You bring up a good point...secularism vs. religious when we discuss things that are often considered religious, like Judaism. My brother, for example, is an atheist Jew.

No comment on post #164. Pay no attention to that crusader behind the curtain. He's just another evil ISLAMAPHOBE, oh my.

BTW, what is the topic of this thread, I can't tell by reading ya'lls post.

Okay, how about this.

Do you believe a religious person, particularly a Muslim, can be secular? That would include basing political opinions and ideologies completely on rational thought dependent upon the circumstances, and deriving those opinions/ideologies on ones own opinions without the religious book of that persons faith having any influence? I believe it can be done with Islam because it has been done in Turkey and now look. They recently finished a joint military excercise with the US and Israeli's. What other nation with a muslim majority would do such a thing? The only thanks they got was from Iran; "its unfortunate some of our neighbours work in the interest of the Zionists"

No one is saying that. I think people pretty much have agree that honor killings are "wrong" and this situation is pretty heinous. Is there something more you are looking for?

I don't know. I came late to this party.

Yes, I believe that what you say is entirely possible. I know plenty of people who are highly religious who can separate their devoutness from world decisions they make or positions they believe. Much of this comes from biblical (or any holy book) interpretation. Judaism is a great example. There are a number of sects, ranging from the ultra conservative to the ultra reformed. The difference is more about biblical interpretation and the understanding that times change, so must religion. This is one explanation. Another is the fact that many separate their religious lives from their non-religious lives. Often this can be related to ones ability to be open minded, or ones ability to non place ones own values on other people.

Religion means different things to different people. This is why I completely reject ANYone who claims that a religion is evil. How one uses the tenets of that religion indicates the relative evilness, not of the religion, but of the people practicing. Religion has started no wars in history. People's INTERPRETATION of religion has started many.

Its more than honour killings CC, its about a sickness that has been apart of Islamic culture for centurirs. Its straight out of the Islamic text. Justification for killing family members, apostates, homosexuals, unchaste women, etc.

I am not so sure that everyone thinks that honour killings are wrong. I see a lot of people throughout cyberspace defending it as a way for families to save face. Im not refering to members of DP.

The plight of Rifqa Bary is a seriuos matter. Over 5000 muslim women are killed by there family members each year. That does not include those who are maimed, beaten, and tortured i.e. acid burnings etc.

Lets try to stay on topic. (that should kill this thread, most of you don't want to talk about this issue) dig hole in sand, insert head.

Can you quote that piece from the Quaran? I dare you.

See. this is the point thought. No one at DP is supporting honor killings. I think everyone has a negative opinion of this situation.

Can you quote that piece from the Quaran? I dare you.

I said "Islamic text" the Qu'ran is only part of the Islamic text. But if you insist.

Quran 4:90 "If they turn back from Islam, becoming renegades, seize them and kill them wherever you find them".

Quran 4:115 If anyone contradicts or opposes the Messenger after guidance has been conveyed to him, and follows a path other than the way, We shall burn him in Hell!

Sahih Bukahari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57
Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to 'Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn 'Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Apostle forbade it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"

Quran 4:90, "...So if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allah has opened no way for you against them". The phrase, fight not against you, in Quran 4:90 implies that non-muslims do not fight or refuse to fight with us, muslims. The phrase, Allah has opened no way for you against them, in Quran 4:90 implies that Allah wants us to cease in fighting with them, non-muslims. As the phrase, if they writdraw from you, is mentioned in Quran 4:90 with the phrase, Allah has opened no way for you against them, it implies that Allah commands muslims not to fight against non-muslims if non-muslims do not or refuse to fight with us, muslims. As non-muslims in Singapore refuse to fight with us, why should we, muslims, disobey Quran 4:90 to fight then.

Propaganda.

Quran 4:115 If anyone contradicts or opposes the Messenger after guidance has been conveyed to him, and follows a path other than the way, We shall burn him in Hell!

This verse is saying that person will burn in hell if they do not follow the way of Islam...and? How is this unique for this religion only? Same applies to Christianity and every other religion which thinks its the right one.

I couldnt find this verse on the internet to refute your claim so unless proven otherwise, more propaganda from you.

Other than Jew hating, intimidation, threats of terrorism, and terrorist attacks, here's another example of the excess baggage that goes along with Muslim immigration.
I'm trying to find a nicer way of saying that you're ignorant, but nothing comes to mind.

Then your source is crap. How am i any less a person than you?

The Islamic text are translated by muslim scholars at USC.

Who is your source, Ayman al Zawahiri, give him a message for me, tell him I have pork sandwich with his name on it.

btw, I never said you where less of a person than me. Just a bit misguided.
