But it's prevalent enough, that it must stop, but no amount of outside force will alter this, it must come from within. Islam needs a Martin Luther.
Russia, Ukraine, hell most of Eastern Europe, Mediterranean basin of Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Sicily, Latin America....all of these areas have had problems with honor killings. Tell you what, why don't you go read up on history in Brazil and Argentina for starters, do a search for honor killings there. You know, those nice Christian countries.

How about you provide the links, cause I did a quick google, and there isn't much on Christian "honor Killings" so why don't you ya know... back your rhetoric with some facts..

I for now, will go wiki on you and move from there as need be.

Honor killing is mostly widespread in Islamic countries or countries with predominantly Muslim population.[1]

Do you happen to even know any Muslims? Before you answer, give me a freaking break, we know you probably do not know a single one. And by knowing, I mean visited their homes, had them over for dinner, etc..?

You clearly know absolutely freaking nothing about Jewish/Islamic history, but you do seem to hear only the loudest of the rhetoric that does not represent the majority. You also can not seem to distinguish the difference between opposition to Israel, and antisemitism.

Sorry, but you are clearly 110% in the dark on these issues, might I suggest actually educating yourself?

p.s. In a strange bit of irony, I hope you appreciate that the vast majority of Muslims would probably prefer their son or daughter to marry a Jew before ever marrying a Muslim...did you know that? Do you even know why that would be?

Where do you get this tripe from? Seriously?

Re: Teen Fears Honor Killing by Muslim Father

I tried a Google for "Christian Honor Killings" and came up with one case, in Egypt, of a Christian killing his sister for marrying a Muslim.

    That was it.

Perhaps you are privvy to information I am not aware of and could enlighten us all of this dangerous threat.

'Honor' Killing of Wives Is Outlawed in Brazil - The New York Times

Brazil's Supreme Court has ruled that a man can no longer kill his wife and win acquittal on the ground of "legitimate defense of honor."

The ruling ends a 10-year legal battle. "It's a historic decision," said Jacqueline Pitanguy, a Brazilian women's rights leader.

Although never part of the legal code of Brazil, the "defense of honor" strategy has been used by lawyers to win acquittals in thousands of cases of men on trial for murdering their wives. According to a study in Sao Paulo State for the period 1980-81, 722 men claimed defense of their honor as justification for killing women accused of adultery......

Did he? I don't think so. The killings in Brazil seemed to stem from what we'd call "machismo," not any religious aspect.

By the way, "alienation of affections," was used as used as a successful defense for domestic homicide for generations in this country as I understand it.

Now don't you feel bad for being disrespectful to MrVicchio?

Whether honour killing is a religious aspect or not is not the problem. The lack of use of common sense is the main problem.

Religious text was written at another time and in another context. I wish everyone, fanatic Muslims included, will accept to live here and now, meaning in the 21st century.

Too many women die due to domestic violence all over the world and many crimes against women are not fairly punished by the law because they are considered to be "passional crimes".

It is the violence against women that should be stopped, and there is no excuse for it, be it religious, passional or machismo because the final result is the same no matter what the motive is.

edit to add: our dear friend Turbeaux has decided that each and every Muslim in the world is running around holding a Koran in his hand and applying every single word written in it the same way that people use a recepe book.
