New row over cancer diagnosis of Lockerbie bomber

New row over 'non-expert' cancer diagnosis of Lockerbie bomber al-Megrahi - Times Online
    Holy ****.
He probably isn't going to die anytime soon seeing Scotland didn't even get a expert with medical experience to check
    Thank you.

    From the link;

Dr Fraser’s report, however, also contains a reference to the “opinion” of an unnamed doctor — thought to be a GP — who, says that the report, “dealt with him prior to, during and following the diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer”.

It adds: “Having seen him during each of these stages, his clinical condition has declined significantly over the last week \. The clinical assessment, therefore, is that a three-month prognosis is now a reasonable estimate for this patient.”
The GP is likely to have worked with Megrahi for some time and also one should note that when a cancer is metastatic, you no longer need a specialist in prostate cancer because it has already spread beyond the prostate.

Moreover the three month estimate is a consensus decision.

Thus this article and the storm over the three month period is sound and fury signifying little.

    Majority 'oppose' Megrahi release
    Friday, 28 August 2009

Only a third of Scots believe the Lockerbie bomber should have been freed from prison last week, a poll commissioned by BBC News has suggested.
The ICM Research survey indicated almost three quarters thought Scotland's reputation was damaged by Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi's release.

A random sample of 1,005 adults from across Scotland were questioned by telephone on Wednesday and Thursday. The survey found 60% thought the Scottish Government was wrong to release Megrahi, against 32% of respondents who believed it was the right decision. Of those polled, 57% believed Megrahi should have remained in prison until he died, while 37% thought he should have been released at some point prior to his death. But only 36% thought Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill should quit.

Despite Mr MacAskill's insistence to the contrary, more than two thirds of those questioned - 68% - thought the decision was influenced by factors other than Megrahi's health, while only 20% believed it was made purely on compassionate grounds.

Almost three quarters of those polled (74%) said the affair had damaged the standing of the Scottish Government in the eyes of voters, with the same proportion believing the release of Megrahi had damaged Scotland's reputation. Only 11% said it had enhanced the reputation of the country, while 10% said it had made no difference one way or the other.

Scotland's reputation has indeed suffered and the polling data suggests that domestic political repercussions are looming.

Ok, I lean on the liberal side, but this is killing me. This guy killed 270 people as a terrorist and they are "showing him mercy," because he has a terminal illness!!!!!? That's karma bitch! He should have rotted and died in prison. Thoughts?
Well... we all die at some point.
If cancer doesn't get us, then it's some other illness or injury.
Dying is not exactly a special or unexpected circumstance, I wouldn't think.
I would think that if one is sentenced to life imprisonment, it is to be assumed that one will die in prison. Death is the natural and inevitable final phase of "life", now isn't it?

So I guess this ruling leaves me a little confused as well.

    This is a disgrace!

Kadafi was, is, and will always be a disgrace. He should not be allowed in the U.S. or any other civilized country. This bomber was proven to be guilty with forensic evidence. What they didn't prove was if he was acting as an agent of the Libyan government who was at the time his employer. His release so soon after Libyas 180 degree change in weapons policy seems at least glaringly suspicious. In a civil trial in the U.S. Kadafi would have been found guilty.

Attn2 Americans shouldn't trust kingdoms in the war on terror

I opposed the Lockerbie bomber's release as did most Scots. He was released on the orders of the Queen's justice minister.

So my question for Americans sore at the release of the Lockerbie bomber is this.

Is that Queen whose minister released the Lockerbie bomber banned from the USA yet?

    Nope.

Is your president shunning meetings with the Queen yet?

    Nope.

You guys have a revolution against the monarchy a couple of hundred years ago then spend the next 200 years trying to get back in favour with them. Why?

You'd be better helping us getting shot of them as well.

I mean it is not as if you can rely her on Her Majesty's Prisons to keep terrorists locked up or anything, is it?

Having been in one of HM Prisons, I can testify that they are much happier locking up someone who has sworn at a police officer than they are locking up a terrorist who blows up a plane and kills passengers if that might cost them a lucrative oil deal.

I am posting videos tearing into the Queen's minister's decision to release the Lockerbie bomber, from my ScottishStandard channel on YouTube.

BP got Libyan oil deal for the Lockerbie Pan Am Flight 103 bomber's release

NO MERCY for Lockerbie bomber say Scots in BBC poll & Peter Dow comments.

Lockerbie bomber released. What do Scots REALLY think of Americans?

Re: Terminally ill Lockerbie bomber released

and I mentioned the Lockerbie bomber release again in my 9/11 memorial video.

9/11 anniversary: Peter Dow's message from Scotland (YouTube)

From Ground Zero, New York, September 11th, 2010.

A choir sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" the national anthem of the United States of America.

The New York City Port Authority Police Pipes and Drums Band play.
    Peter Dow, Scottish Republican
"Here in Scotland, we are watching the 9/11 ceremonies live from America. The Scots remember with Americans, we mourn with Americans and we honour with Americans, because we love Americans and we stand with the American flag and the republic for which it stands.

Our unity, between Scots, Britons and Americans will never be broken - not by any number of terrorist attacks and atrocities, nor, certainly, by a Queen's minister shamefully releasing the Lockerbie bomber.

We don't need to sacrifice our principles for their oil. All we need is to be true to ourselves and to our friends.

For victory for freedom in the war on terror."
So if anyone here would like to co-operate in ripping the Queen's government of Scotland to shreds for going soft on terror whether for the kingdom's oil deals or just because they are soft in the head, I would like to offer my services.

You got the same back-stabbing unreliability from the Saudi monarchy when they did nothing to prevent the rise of Al Qaeda and 9/11.

YouTube - British TV reports South Park re: Queen vs The Republic

So Americans would be better supporting your loyal friends Scottish and British republicans - people you can rely on as good allies in the war on terror.

YouTube - Hey USA! Why not help us get republics?

I have had this page on my website for a good number of years now trying to alert Americans for a long time about the problem of the monarchy and kingdom and the poor quality governments they give rise to.

Attention Americans! Who are your true friends? Not the Windsors!
