I hope this doesn't come back to bite GM on the ass. The clunkers program is not going to permanently boost demand, it's just a short term thing. The extra vehicles they're going to produce probably won't even hit the market while clunkers is still going on

This is gonna hurt the economy, bad.

Just wait, this will be the next big **** up of Mr. Obama
Why would dealers lose money? They just won't be getting extra money anymore

They already sold the cars. only something like 2% of the claims have been paid, and 4 out of 5 or something are being rejected for form errors, and there is a claim of 1.81 billion has already been spent.

What did your job say, that you had work for a month? That's not recovery.
Well no, it's like taking Nyquil while you have a cold. It won't make you get better any faster, but it makes you less uncomfortable while you recover.

The HR lady who called me said we had work almost for sure for a month, and past that was uncertain. Realize we are a supplier, not an automaker, so we won't know until we see the orders from the three companies we supply to(GM, Chrysler, Toyota), and we only get orders a week or so in advance.

CARS depleted the vehicles that GM had stockpiled. GM is just going to rebuild that stockpile, and then look at what sales are like at that point. It's pretty safe.

They had a stockpile because they couldn't sell them, though. Now that they have what's the benefit of creating a new stockpile?

Not exactly, no. They always have a stockpile. The one they had was larger than normal do to slow sales, and slower to deplete.
