Overhauling health-care system tops agenda at annual meeting of Canada's doctors

The Canadian Press: Overhauling health-care system tops agenda at annual meeting of Canada's doctors

The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

"We know that there must be change," she said. "We're all running flat out, we're all just trying to stay ahead of the immediate day-to-day demands."
The glorious success of single payer...imploding.

Looks like the US isn't the only country with challenges in delivering health care. Imagine that.

Damn it, you beat me to it. How will the left defend these glorious socialized medincine plans?

They'll ignore this story, and this thread. If pressed they'll say Obama has no desire for single payer government run healthcare, so there is no need to worry about Canada's failures.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

In other words, Ouellet believes there could be a role for private health-care delivery within the public system.
Perhaps the fact that Canadian doctors are meeting to discuss the merits of the American system will get their attention?

Think of it....while the lunatic left in this country wants to be more like Canada, Canadian doctors want their system to be more like America's.

Can the lunatic left afford not to answer such an "outrageous" situation?

There are over 100 countries in the world with UHC, and you single out 1 that has supposed issues... congrats!

There are 2 countries in the world with private based healthcare and only one is UHC and works.. the US is the other country and is the most expensive on the planet and does not even cover everyone.. CONGRATS!

Yeah, none of these nations have problems in health care.

They'll also say that the problem in Canada is highly exaggerated, that these doctor's are part of an 'organized effort' by private lobbyists, and that even if problems exist in Canada, nothing could possibly be worse than U.S. health care.
