PS: Who the hell are you on about in specific?

This law liberates such women, your getting confused.

    And the whole of France.
The law liberates women by telling them what they can wear? Thats a little orweallian. Why dont they give us all a uniform so we can feel more liberated?

I think it oppresses women by forcing them to conform to society and men's ogling .... thats right, i said it.

That's kind of my point. Tongue in cheek, yes, but rooted in truth.

Unless, of course, someone wants to convince me that all that make-up, cleavage and poverty of clothing is a choice she has made for her comfort and convenience and not to satisfy the principles of the patriarchal society she lives in. heh, heh.

But watch out! There's a fine line between female empowerment and 'feminazism,' don't you know.

But the public rules have to be based on something. Private, you can make up whatever damned rules you want. Public not so much. This is nothing more than a xenophobic attack by the French government against a targeted group within their own populace. Things like that are not proper public rules. The government cannot make up any ol' rule it wants, it must abide by the rights and liberties of the individual.

They don't really have a private life, they live for the community. The main goal of their life is to have kids and transmit the tradition.

I'm not blaming the muslims only, such things have existed in Europe until a few generations ago
They are adults, they can make up their own mind. They are adults in France which is supposedly free (though obviously not). If they want to wear a swimsuit with a hood, that's their perogative. It's not rightfully up to you or the government to tell someone "no". There is no sign of oppression here, that's bigotry and nothing less. There is no sanitation concern, that's bull**** made up to justify the attack.

Let people live their lives as they see fit. They are not hurting anyone. Obviously in countries where the religion can be endorse through the government, you can get very bad results. But France isn't one of those countries, these women are free to choose for themselves and that's their choice. For ****s sake, people need to keep their noses out of other people's business.

Well then, let's get rid of all religion. Because it all does that to some extent. Talking about imaginary, magical sky beings which protect us and will ultimately allow us to go to the happy happy place when we die if we did what the magical sky beings told us to do on earth. ****, I've seen Jesus Camp, those little kids; it was sick. Can we ban that? No more Bible Camps in the United States? I mean, they're being brainwashed right?

The Italian press is reporting a similar story today. A young Muslim woman in Verona showed up at a swimming pool in one of these "burkini" suits and created quite a stir. Moms complained that she was freaking out their children.
Anyway, the pool supervisor asked her to let him know what exactly the suit was made of before he made any decisions on whether to allow it or not. This is the way the French pool should have handled things.

I agree. I'm also wondering where all those people are who defend/promote nude beaches? Does the woman in the Burkini not warrant her freedom of expression?

I cannot imagine a woman in a Burkini would freak kids out any more than this guy would:
