"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
The democrats did the same thing under Bush. And that wasn't ok either. I dont support Repulicans holding signs like that or Democrats. But this is not an example of the average Republican...there are crazies on both sides.Yep, they sure are a real class act. I imagine the (R)epugnants will squirm out of this.
What irks me about posts like this is the fact that they try to stereotype an entire group of people based on the action of one. People are individuals. We all think in different ways. To assume that all individuals in a group (aka Republicans/Democrats) all agree on everything that other members do it illogical.
Reagan spent more money on the military. He did this because we were in the middle of the Cold War. I think that is completely justifiable. Had Reagan spent so much on the military during a time of peace I would be against that, but under the given circumstances he did what was necessary. And yet Reagan increased the size of the government and pushed massive deficits.

They convinced Ford's people the russians had secret weapons through their counter-intelligence group Team B which ran counter-intelligence against the CIA
