I can't find the link at the moment, but there was an event where Obama tried to deflect when a guy was talking about his 101 year old parent who got a pacemaker when the second surgeon determined that the person obviously wanted to live, after the first surgeon said the parent was too old. Obama said something that was callous, something to the effect of the parent would need to realize that they were done with life or along those lines.
I recall this incident as well.

Found it, there is a video as well. Obama: No Pacemaker For You! | Outside the Beltway | Online Journal of Politics and Foreign Affairs
    and here:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-dQfb8WQvo&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - Obama to Jane Sturm: Hey, take a pill[/ame]

It sounds pretty cold and callous to me.

Should we REALLY trust the government to make these choices?
    REALLY?

Furthermore, my links show, it is on the table, and has happened in the past... That is the point, not that they ARE GOING TO DO IT, but that these things are not impossible like many on the left are claiming.

I did not misrepresent what he said. That is misleading, and intentionally so.
There is zero evidence that these things have any likelihood to be put into the health care plan currently under consideration. Suggesting otherwise is misleading. You would be quick to call a liberal trying to do something like that.

You did misrepresent his words. Let's look at the quote.

Sen. Arlen Specter said Wednesday he thinks people who have been angrily disrupting town hall meetings on overhauling the health care system are "not necessarily representative of America," but should be heard.
Note the bolded part. Not people opposed to the bill, but people disrupting the town hall meetings.

Perhaps this is what you were eluding to.

If you mean that most Americans do not/would not disrupt a town hall meeting, then you have a point.
    But then... so what?

This is probably the wrong place for me to mention that I have a total girl crush on Ms. Claire, and follow her on twitter. OMG, I love her.
