well, his packed audience of HYPER supporters (LOL!)---YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!---laughed exuberantly at the post office line
and so do his critics
but for different reasons
another incredibly dumb move by the prez
because LITERALLY he packed that room with standing-O sycophants
in front of all america
america was super interested in this town hall
i watched every minute, took extensive notes
msnbc, cnn and cspan covered the 1:15 entire
foxnews did the first half then dropped it
it did turn out to be very boring
cuz it was so choreographed
a HUGE mistake, politically
msnbc, the instant the speech was done:
andrea walter---"obviously not a lot of push back," there
the republican voice (i didn't get his name, cuz, who cares)---"drop the pretense"
SUSAN PAGE---he's "lost control of the debate," he'd have been "better served" if asked harder questions
he spoke for almost exactly 30 minutes
then, took NINE questions
the crowd eagerly reacted to EVERY applause line, they were THRILLED he was there, over-the-top EXCITED to see him
my memories of NH are always so cold, he deadpanned
they ATE IT UP!
first question came from a man on obama's right hand who identified himself as a "state representative" in concord
he asks, "medicare is a govt run operation, i know you're striving for bipartisanship, but if the republicans won't cooperate reasonably..."
answer: i don't want govt run insurance, that's a myth, one of my favorites is the lady who says she's tired of govt trying to run everything, and KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY MEDICARE
the packed gym audience of 1800 laughed HARDER THAN HE DID!
huge mistake, politically, even msnbc saw it
looks like he's SCARED to deal with what mccaskill, specter, dingell, cardin, sibellius had to go thru
it was a campaign rally
electioneering event
and, as such, considering the time and place---condescending
he made his stump speech, answered nothing new
repeated the exact same stuff he's been saying all along
he can get 2/3 of the money he needs from "savings" he's found in medicare
and wellness/prevention
the audience was SELECTED by tickets
they applied thru the white house for a lotto
and the white house PICKED
thus, PACKED
Portsmouth Town Hall 8-11-09
the white house says the invites were "distributed randomly"
"with 30% given to organizers" to distribute to their friends
LOLOL!
which is EXACTLY WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE
over-the-top enthusiasm and excitement
for the CHIN
he's scared
he can't answer questions
he can't face the public
another giant political error, picking THAT audience
dang, they shoulda taken acting lessons
i'm sure the drama teacher was in attendance
2 high school employees asked questions
an english/journalism instructor, 37 year vet, who asked about mental health care---would obama always insure that there was sufficient mental health care
now, THERE's the question that's driving all america these days
LOL!
and then a critic of the pres, a paraprofessional, self described, in the field of medical, who worked at the school too
obama WINKED at her!
PALIN LIKE!
the audience EXPLODED
the parapro wasn't impressed, "you winked at me," she said
she asked about a troubling doctors and nurses shortage, it started at college, nursing professors make less than nurses
you want to extend coverage to 50 mil more, she continued
he interrupted---there are currently 46 mil, 47, uhh, actually we'll only be able to reach 37 to 38, i don't wanna oversell---WINK!
the parapro moved on---and the 500 million you say you want to cut from medicare
i'm very concerned about our seniors, she emphasized
your health board panel, when it gets to the white house, are you certain that our seniors will get care?
yes, he responded, i do see savings in medicare that come from subsidies to insurance co's
seniors, he said, i want you to hear me---it's not your subsidy we're looking at, it's the insurance co's
now, let me address all this talk about death panels...
they're calling em DEATHERS, now
opposite of BIRTHERS, i guess
except they're the same people
third to last questioner began thus---i'm a republican and i really don't know what i'm doing here
the uber-point (for now)---huge political blunder in that he AVOIDED having a real townhall, of course, made sure the audience was supportive
but they OVERDID it big time
those 1800 loved him TOO MUCH
WAY too much
he can't face the public
