Trinkets that stick it to Obama start to sell

Louisiana's Vitter backs 'insurance associations,' prescription drug imports | thetowntalk.com | The Town Talk
The panel of speakers all joined Vitter in opposing the reform package being debated in Congress. Questions from audience members were screened and selected in advance of the event.

So it is just fine for Republicans to pre-screen questions at a supposed Town Hall, and most likely pack the forum with loyal supporters, but it is not okay for the President to do something similar? You do know that Bush never held a Town Hall that was not packed with supporters and had pre-screened questions? hell many of his press conferences were like that for peak sake!

uhm it's "for pete's sake". /facepalm

And have anything on the topic or are you just going to make excuses?

It seems the polish has come off. As Obama plans a propaganda "town hall" stagecraft repleat with teleprompters and restricted access only to supporters, the backlash is growning stronger and stronger...

Let's hope, "No, he can't" is his legacy, for the sake of this great nation!

Polish....there was no polish. It was clear what Obama was before the election, I said it myself all the time. People were just really pissed at Bush and McCain was no choice and here came something different. People were so disillusioned by the past administration that they fell into the hype and lies which is Obama. Now people are seeing what I was saying from the beginning.

Maybe one day we'll get a President we can feel good about and who supports the People and limited government. One day.

Making excuses? You were the one that brought up his town hall in the OP regarding trinket sales that supposedly are down.. considering the source.. then well. And now you switching to attacking me just because I yet again called you out on your hypocritical attitude?

What hypocritical attitude. Please link to me supporting what you suggested I did or stop lying.

What say you on the topic or are you here to simply lie and try to derail as usual?

I swear, if I had a nickel for every time some Obama lickspittle said, "B-b-b-but Bush did it, too!!!!!1!!", I could finally buy my own island in the Caribbean.

"Change," my pasty white ass. Man up and take responsibility for your guy, just for once.

Responibility for what? We are discussing 2 things here.

1. The supposed fall in trinket sales according the far right moonie newspaper Washington Times.

2. Obama holding a town hall where according to the OP, it is stacked with supporters and the questions are screened.

On the first one.. being from the Washington Times.. well that about says it all.

On the second one, I only pointed out the fact that one of the GOPs self proclaimed "leaders" held a "Town Hall" a few days ago, where most questions were pre screened and odds on the hall was stacked with supporters. I also reminded the OP that under the Bush administration it was standard operating procedure to do exactly what he now finds "horrible and funny".

So we now have the OP, in another bashing Obama thread, using the supposed falling sales of Trinkets from a right wing moonie owned newspaper and then coming with the mocking comment about him holding a "Town Hall" propoganda meeting with supposed screen questions and yet the OPs "own side" does it all the time..

How much of a double standard do you want?

This thread belongs in the "Bash Obama section of these boards" and not in breaking news.

Mmm-hmm.

Like I said, "Bush did it, too!" is not a valid criticism. Try again.

Okay how about.. DeVitter did it too? McCain did it too? Want to go on?

No, how about Obama was supposed to bring change to Washington? Remember that?

About the only change there's been so far is melanin content.

Ok, Obama is the same as Bush and the other faux conservatives who believe in expanding government size, power, and subverting the Constitution. That doesn't really excuse what Obama is doing, nor does it reflect positively upon him and his honesty/platform.

Pete as usual you fail

pointing to past bad behavior to justify current bad behavior is still bad behavior

and maybe you would be so kind as to dig up just one or two examples of people on here saying it was right when bush or devitter did it, otherwise STFU

And that aint what I am doing. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the original poster.

You cant criticize a person for doing something that you or your own people has done more than once..it is just an own goal of epic proportions.

Now my personal opinion about Obama doing this, if it is true, is that it is wrong. He should not pad the Town Hall with supporters or pre screen the questions. He needs to grab the bull by the horns so to say.

But that does not change the very fact that the OP is criticizing Obama for something that politicians in the party of "NO" including former Presidents have done time and time again and are still doing as my link proved.

We've been telling you Obama's no better than Bush for months now. Maybe you're starting to awaken to that fact?

no pete
what you have to do is prove the OP supported Bush doing this or supports the idea for republicans or democrats, or you need to retract
just because someone in a party I tend to support does something, does not mean i support that specific thing
but this is your style, everyone knows it. You disparage the right with BS claims and than do not back it up

I supported Larry Craig (as a worst case scenario, fictitious 1000%)
does that mean I support Adultery and cruising for gay sex in airport restrooms

You as usual are an epic fail, why do you even bother

I don't think that is true. Obama is worlds better than Bush, he is just not perfect.

Yes, yes you can. What you call for here is excusing the sins of the present by the sins of the past. Past people ****ed up. We should have done something then, but we didn't. But just because we failed then doesn't mean we have to continue failing now. At some point, we have to stop this ****. If we want to save the Republic, at some point we have to say "I don't care you did wrong in the past, we're starting now to enforce decency and responsibility in government". Cheny should be in jail, no doubt about it. One of the bad things Obama did was to not hold the previous administrations responsible for their crimes. But that doesn't mean Obama should be given a clear slate to do as he wishes. The only reason Obama, or the Democrats at large, don't push for proper punishment/investigation is because they don't want to open that can of worms. They've acted just as bad, just as improperly, and the status quo will not benefit by holding politicians responsible for their actions.

Both sides suck, both have done bad, it's time we criticize the lot and demand responsible government and that politicians are held accountable for their actions. No more free rides.

And that aint what I am doing. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the original poster.

You need to post where I have ever defended this about any politician or you need to stop lying about the Good Reverend.

Who was my "own people"? FAIL

Obama is making Carter look good, and he's not even a year in yet. :lamo
