Police, councils and the intelligence services made more than 500,000 requests to access private emails and telephone records in the UK last year, according to an annual surveillance report.

The figures, compiled by the Interception of Communications Commissioner, Paul Kennedy, found that about 1,500 surveillance requests were made every day in Britain.

That is the annual equivalent to one in every 78 people being targeted. It included 1,500 approved applications from local councils.

Each request allows public bodies to access data -- which includes telephone records, email and text message traffic

Did you get a survey a few days ago Kaya by the council? Or was it just me?
Had dozens of questions to find out "improvements" that the council could make .... (Which was why they asked for every detail under the sun) :doh ...
chucked it away straight away

Was telling the British government to piss off on the list?

Well im in North London and your probably West/South because i have a few family members who said something about a council survey not long ago, and they live in the West and one in the South, because we never got it.

You know, a gazillion questions ranging from how many times you go doctors/income/race/political leanings ... and on it goes.

Are you happy with the council's services?
Would you support [-------]?

They probably pass the information onto private businesses knowing them :/

Oh we get those survey's too. We'd just call them a survey or a marketing survey. Thanxs for clearing that up for me.

Haha, i forgot to tell you a letter came a few days before the Euro elections from Labour apologising for the MP expenses business and it had written at the bottom in red 'Vote Labour June 4th'

They wish.

I know very well they spy on people. What im saying is, im still wondering in what direction we are spiralling towards our destruction; the left or right.

I couldn't believe it tbh.
The damn cheek of them. I think they have accepted the inevitable defeat now tho. Nice to know they still have some form of contact with the real world
