Because despite all the wrong things he is doing the country is still moving forward in recovery. We were on a traceable downward spiral of disaster when Bush was making decisions.

All general populace see's is, "America's economy failed under Bush and American's economy is slowly stabilizing under Obama". It doesn't matter that
neither one of these people have control over the stability of the economy, other then the speed of which it does or does not recovery, but as President the state of the economy and the country is directly associated to them.

Obama made a lot of promises to the far left while he was campaigning, and then proceeded to break most of them. The coming civil war within the Democratic party is going to be fought between the far left and the mainstream elements.
Unfortunately, those of us on the far left do not have the political power in the Democratic party to put up much of a battle in a Democratic Civil war.

I doubt that any Democratic Civil war is forthcoming. I think that most of us who dream of a liberal party have conceded that the Democratic party is a left-leaning middle of the road party and will stay that way in order to attract moderates and independents that have been told by the GOP that they are not welcoming in that party.

This is good and bad in my opinion. I would prefer a much stronger liberal party...however, I recognize that we simply don't have the numbers to make that kind of influence.

Not in its current form. This bill is political suicide for many Democrats, and I just don't see them throwing themselves in the wood chipper for Obama.

Perhaps some bastardized, teethless version, but not what Obama is seeking.

There will be a revolution in this country if it passes. The overwhelming majority of people do not support government-sponsored healthcare. They just want basic, meaningful reform.

I agree. Many Democrats don't support this bill in it's current format which is why it wasn't put to a vote before the recess.

This is one bill that only a niche group of Democrats support and most Democrats and Republicans reject.

It also won't help when people figure out that the government will have access to our checking accounts. That is going strangely "unreported" by the MSM.

Perhaps because the opinion piece may not be entirely factual or accurate?

Perhaps you should read the bill?

If this bill does happen to pass I would bet $100 that there will be lawsuits.

The Dems have exactly the same problem that we had as Repubs then, our fringe wanted more spending and programs and we foolishly went along with it, this is also what I am seeing now with the current leadership, except the whackos in congress are the ones with the most power, also akin to that, I am seeing the moderates within the party(voters that is) showing slipping confidence on a daily basis.

Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.
