Don't we pay into medicade as well? It's thier money.
What point are you trying to make?

Actually, no it isn't, there is an open enrollment period for medicare part B as that is optional, but part A is an automatic enrollment that starts with contributory requirements(payroll taxes for x amount of quarters worked), and once eligibility requirements are met, disablitiy or attained age = ss benefit age, then the part A benefits are available. The only exception I can remember is Railroad workers and V.A.
Part A is involuntary for people over 65. Okay. But for everybody else both A and B are voluntary.

    .
"Real Americans"? Read the description of the videos of the event posted by the activist group themselves:
Citizen input on Ron Klein's support of nationalized health care. Real information in this 7 part video series including testimony from doctors, insurance professionals and individuals who experienced government oppression in former communist Poland, Iran, and the Soviet Union. Extensive comments about the failing health systems of Canada and the UK
Does that sound grass roots to you? Sounds to me like a dog and pony show that was produced by a well financed group determined to undermine health care reform at any cost. These are not "concerned Americans", they are bit players in a charade.

    Not simple enough for you?

We pay for medicare, asking them if they "have it" instead of "Want it" is a dishonest question.

Paid for with money coming from your pay check. Sure disenroll and get a refund of all the money put in. That would be fair.

    Your position lacks depth.

So you would like to end Medicare. Does it matter that you are in a tiny minority, or will you hold your breath and turn blue if you don't get what you want?

Point #1: Wanting stuff is easy. Changing your mind about what you want is also easy. Want based on bad understanding of the situation is common. And implementing political policies is hard; it takes a lot of willpower, time, and resources from a lot of politicians, bureaucrats, and citizens, and policies are hard to reform or turn around once set into motion. Hence, the value of people 'wanting' something when it comes to political policy is diminished; it is possible to change the want a lot quicker and more easily than the policy.

Point #2: Most people don't want to get rid of Medicare, and most of those who do don't want to get rid of Medicare as such, meaning, without making provisions for certain categories of person to continue receiving some form of coverage.

Paid for with money coming from your pay check. Sure disenroll and get a refund of all the money put in. That would be fair.

Reality lacks depth? That's not financially possible. Rates of medical treatment today costs more than the rate of wages people were making decades ago, so the money people put in is already well in the process of being spent up; you can't reimburse one person in life unless you can reimburse every person in theory. Otherwise, the policy would be unjust.

Will.. you are either mislead by your media or your are so distantly removed from reality you cannot see the truth..

Speaking as an Angry Mob of ONE, you obviously don't get it...

We tried raising our voices alone and were ignored so we were forced to group together.. liberals are only accustomed to astroturfiing, so they don't understand what grassroots are, and THIS is grass roots! You now see and hear the fear of the progressives.. it is palatable.

BO himself has called out his dogs and immediately violence breaks out in Tampa as a DIRECT result of Obama's community organizer thug mentality.. He has called on the true king of astroturfing, Axlerod who has gotten rich from manufacturing (his Co ASK, google it) exactly what our grassroots movement has become naturally.. shame on liberals, Axlerod, and the one who has brought a classless Chi-Town thugary to the Whitehouse it'self!

I too hope they keep up the thugary exposing for all Americans their darkness, it will serve conservatism and America well in 2010...

I find it ironic, the argument that we don't have the money for medicade, but we have a trillion more for Obamacare.....

Refusing to allow a town hall meeting to proceed is not democracy, it is mob rule. Hanging a congressman in effigy is not an expression of free speech, it is a threat of violence. The thugs you are defending have no intention of allowing the democratic process to work, their intent is to intimidate and win at any cost. This is anti-American, and I will fight it to the end. What sort of American are you that you choose to defend mob rule?
