Tenn. senator has affair with intern, resigns

Tenn. senator has affair with intern, resigns - Yahoo! News

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Tennessee state senator said he was opposed to sex outside marriage, but his private life told a different story: He was having an affair with his 22-year-old intern.

When an extortion plot exposed married Republican Sen. Paul Stanley's illicit relationship, he said he would be "clearing up" misimpressions later. He's now clearing out his office, the latest politician caught in a sex scandal, this one made worse by not coming clean."

We must picture hell as a state where everyone is perpetually concerned about his own dignity and advancement, where everyone has a grievance, and where everyone lives with the deadly serious passions of envy, self-importance, and resentment.

Whether in politics, sports, or even the media one must always guard against the possibility of being set up for extortion attempts. I'm not saying that is what is at the center of this because adultery is at the center. But the real possibility is always there and anyone with half a brain might be well advised of the old adage. If it sounds to good to be true it is. Even though younger women like Monica Lewinsky can become smitten by the power or fame of someone that someone must always try to rise to a higher level and maintain his or her integrity above all else as hard as it may be when flattered by the attention of anyone.
First for me it's clearly a set up or how would the boyfriend know of the affair and second how and where did he get the pictures. I'd also like to know if it is possible someone else is behind this whole thing. A rival perhaps or political enemy. I think you should always explore all the possibilities.
