Yeah. That's exactly what I said.

But if you're calling Barack Obama a fool, you've got no argument from me.

seems like Obama qualified that pledge pretty precisely, not your basic "read my lips" or Grover Norquist bull. So where's the pirouette?

me, I wouldn't ever appoint a SECTRES that stupid.
I think Geithner was just a scapegoat. The Obama administration had him throw this out there to test the waters. That way, Obama is not seen as breaking any promises directly.

Yeah. His qualifications intensified the pledge. NO middle-class tax increase of any kind.

You know, if you don't want to get caught with your britches down and have to twist out ridiculous backpedals from what you say, maybe you should look to see if it's right first? Just a thought.

But I guess that would require you to do something other than just knee-jerk automatic defense of all things Obama, so I get why you're not interested in doing so.

Pardon me for interjecting, but 'you guys' currently in power are making 'us' look GREAT! Lol, it was far far better then than now... and you can keep the change, this comment is tax-free... well, that is until Obama, Pelosi et al. find a way to tax this too!

Um, why are those extremes the only two options here? Either over-tax hard working Americans or provide no services at all?

How about a little moderation here.

One can cut wasteful spending and still help hard-working Americans get back on their feet if they stumble... which is far better than burdening Americans with increased taxes in order to fund wasteful programs such as ACORN for example.

If I have to pay more taxes, and hence my company as well, I'll be letting more people go. Then, overall, the government will collect less taxes overall.

Would you rather have 10 percent of $10, or 9 percent of $20? Obama wants the former.

Higher taxes will result in higher unemployement, and ultimately less taxes collected.

It's not like there's not enough history to know better.
