Sailor charged in Camp Pendleton shooting death of seaman

What I am saying is that this is a story, a tragic one, of one Sailor killing another Sailor. Why was sexual orientation brought up in the first place?

If you want to read this as a "hate" crime (I have no idea what a hate crime is.) then there is nothing to see, so just move along.

Oh, if you are trying to use "Mr. Former Retired Officer" as a pajoritive....please try again. Besides it should have been ...."Mr. Retired Marine Corps Officer" or "Mr. Former Marine Corps Officer (Retired)".

Geeish.....

I see nothing in the title of this article that would indicate a "hate" crime was even the subject matter of this incident. You are assuming that the only reason anyone would find this article worthwhile is because there was a hate crime involved. Someone killing another person is news to some of us, no matter what the basis was for that killing.

perjorative is spelled this way, by the way.

Not in the title, but definitely in the first paragraph.

SAN DIEGO – A sailor has been charged with fatally shooting and burning a gay serviceman last month at Camp Pendleton

It automatically speculates that it was a hate crime, because of that sailor's sexual orientation. Why else state that the sailor was gay?

Would you please, please, with sugar on it, go back and re-read the very first post in this thread and see if it does or does not mention a sex hate crime.

Thanks for the spelling correction. My "spell checker" knows spelling, just not which word I intended to use.......however, your "perjorative is spelled this way, by the way." is also in error. It's pejorative.

I assume that the OP wants us to read the article and make our own determination as to her comment. You're making it seem as though because YOU don't see a hate crime, it means there wasn't one and NO ONE else should waste their time reading the article. Let the reader come to their own conclusion. Sheesh.

My bad. That was an accident because I know how to spell it. At least I didn't spell it with an "a."

If the OP had wanted us to read the article and make up our own minds as to it's importance and meaning why then would the OP have added, "Does not look like this was an anti-gay hate crime:" ?

....I'm just saying.

I do not know how to spell most words but at least I did not spell it with a "l".

So you think someone providing HER OWN opinion and providing the citation to the article to which she refers, she just wants us to read her words? You think she's not seeking comments from others--whether the person agrees or disagrees? People just post their comments so that no one will respond to them? How can we understand her comment unless we read the article?

I'm done. Bye bye

That's all I did. Added my opinion.

"I'm done. Bye bye" ..... if only!

Except for me. I am the most humble there is. There is no one more humble than me. Not even close. If there was a Humble Hall of Fame. I would be the only one in it. There is just no one as humble as I am.

In my opinion, when people brag, it's because they feel insecure.

Sorry. We already have Reverent Hellhound. Find a new shtick.
