    SHE IS 8 YEARS OLD.

    Not 15, not 18, not 28.

    8.

SHE HAS NO ACCOUNTABILITY IN THIS SCENARIO.

Do explain: What happened if she did not go along with those boys (assuming she was not kidnapped entirely)?
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

You're talking about a 2nd grader here. Please stop talking, you're making yourself look ridiculous.

The four sex assault suspects in the crime apparently lured the girl into a vacant shed near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road last Thursday by offering her chewing gum, said Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Hill.
Now that is a stupid second grader... And you ignored my question entirely....

NO more stupid than the average. Eight year olds aren't known for having a highly developed sense of self-preservation. That's why they make easy victims for sexual predators. It's a function of THEIR AGE, not their training.

Most 8 year olds can't even understand the concept of a "stranger." It's a brain development issue. Trying to lay ANY CULPABILITY for this attack at the feet of a small child is a sick mentality.

Seriously, all I can think is that you have very little experience with school-aged children and are talking out your ass here.

    Agreed.

One of my coworkers used to work at a maximum-security prison in west Pennsylvania and told me stories about what the other inmates used to do to cons who were in for child molestation and the like. Imagine the worst sorts of things that could happen to a person's anus and multiply that by a thousand. It will be hard time, in every sense of the word, and good enough for 'em.

I think i made my point very obvious before the onslaught of this discussion. I am not trying to make the victim the guilty party. With this in mind, the story is just another example WHY you teach your children not to trust ANYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or for that matter, why you do not leave them unsupervised unless you feel they are competent enough to behave in that type of responsible fashion.

At the age of 8 it was drilled into me if anyone tried giving me something, i was under strict instructions to scream and run or if any men approached me with lollies or icecream. Not to cross the street without holding my Moms hand and looking both directions, waiting for the green man, do not talk to strangers .... I'm pretty sure everyone has had these discussions and warnings when they were young

The problem is that no matter how well you think you've communicated this lesson, the concept of strangers doesn't translate well to an 8 year old. Their brain development and maturity levels are insufficient for this to be a good safeguard against danger. Further, most 8 year olds would not think of slightly older children as "strangers." And, it's entirely likely that she was entrapped by the 9-year-old, at the plans of the older kids, based upon reading the article.

    You're being absurd herre.

Beyond that, the attempt to shift the blame somehow onto the victim and/or her family is simply disgusting.

Please, go ahead and melt down with exclamation marks. It will be fun watching your brain explode.
