    The interesting part is that if they ever make an effective pre-natal test for that gay gene you asser exists, then the left will finally find an abortion excuse they will want banned. They'd say it's completely immoral to abort gay babies.

    Of course people can choose to alter their sexual behavior. Anytime they want to.

    Behaviors are choices.

    What they may not be able to control is their sexual preferences, since, as one post suggested, homosexuality may be genetic in origin, or some form of defective response to early developmental environmental issues.

    Choice? Extremely unlikely.

    Sounds eminently reasonable.

    Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

    Yes, and I'm sure that there is an abundance of 30 year old pre-med students.

    Is There a "Gay Gene"?

    Many laymen now believe that homosexuality is part of who a person really is * from the moment of conception.

    The "genetic and unchangeable" theory has been actively promoted by gay activists and the popular media. Is homosexuality really an inborn and normal variant of human nature?

    No. There is no evidence that shows that homosexuality is simply "genetic." And none of the research claims there is. Only the press and certain researchers do, when speaking in sound bites to the public.

    ...

    "Gay gene" researcher Dean Hamer was asked by Scientific American if homosexuality was rooted solely in biology. He replied:

    "Absolutely not. From twin studies, we already know that half or more of the variability in sexual orientation is not inherited. Our studies try to pinpoint the genetic factors...not negate the psychosocial factors."

    But in qualifying their findings, researchers often use language that will surely evade general understanding making statements that will continue to be avoided by the popular press, such as:

    ...the question of the appropriate significance level to apply to a non-Mendelian trait such as sexual orientation is problematic.

    Sounds too complex to bother translating? This is actually a very important statement. In layman's terms, this means:

    It is not possible to know what the findings mean--if anything--since sexual orientation cannot possibly be inherited in the direct way eyecolor is.

    Re: 'Missing' Man Sought by Gay Pal Is Willingly Undergoing Counseling, Family Says

    Genetic, not genetic....in this instance, who gives a flying copulating fried breakfast snack cake?

    (that's F'ing donut for those reading challenged )

    And who the hell cares that he's in medical school, not in medical school, pre-med not pre-med---blah, blah, blah....

    The guys is 23 years old.

    More quotes from the story:

    Faulkner said her son, a recent graduate from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, is free to do as he pleases following what she called a 2-month-long Internet-based relationship with a 24-year-old Wisconsin man named Travis Swanson.

    "[Bryce] got caught up with friends who were pulling him that way," she said. "He just wants to take some time and figure out what he wants to do with his life."

    Through a family representative, her son denied being coerced into attending counseling.

    "Every decision that I've made has been based solely upon my beliefs and I have not been manipulated or coerced by anyone to do anything," Bryce Faulkner's statement read. He declined further comment.
    That first quote?
    That's his mother being quoted.
    How nice that she's acknowledging that her 23 year old son, is free to do whatever he wants to do.

    Hang on...there's more!
    Swanson, of Oshkosh, Wis., told FOXNews.com that he met Faulkner at a bar in Panama City, Fla., during spring break in March. The two quickly hit it off, he said.

    Swanson left Florida just two days later, but he and Faulkner kept in touch via Skype "every single night" in the following months. Swanson said their chats were so frequent that he notched a whopping 9,700 minutes on his cell phone in May alone.

    "Things started getting serious in the months of April and May," said Swanson. "He told me that he loved me."......

    ~~~~~~~
    He said the relationship flourished until mid-June, when Debra Faulkner gained access to her son's e-mail account and discovered Bryce's secret.
    The next time they spoke, Swanson said, Bryce was inconsolable.
    "He was crying really, really bad, I mean, like uncontrollably crying," he said. "He said [Bryce's parents] made him read quotes aloud from the Bible and said that he's going to hell."
    (emphasis mine)
    In case anyone missed that---when his mother "gained access to her son's e-mail account"!
    Did I mention how he's 23?
    As in "of legal age"?
    Jebus Chribt!!
    A) Bryce (the 23 year old) apparently hasn't been heard from directly. Only through a spokesperson that the "family chose".
    Oh good, I feel soooo much better about this already.
    B) Who the bloody freakin' hell gives a good damn what the parents think, feel, believe?
    She broke into his e-mail account, browbeat him into ditching a new dude and tossed him into a locked down hospital setting, in all likelihood to make herself feel better so's she wouldn't have to think "icky" things about her son the homo.
    If these are the "Family Values" this type of Christian wants to promote they can keep 'em to their own damn self.
    Her spirit
    will never die.
    My point was it's not really all that unusual for a 23 year old pre-med student..
    What if I'm not ready to apply to by the time I graduate?
    The average age of matriculating medical school students is approximately 26. This means that a lot of students elect not to apply right away. The Health Professions Advisor works with both undergraduates and alumni to provide advice and support during the preparation and application processes.
    Many recent graduates have decided to pursue other interests before submitting their medical school applications. They have worked in the biomedical profession, taught school, work in a variety of service organizations both in and out of the country. The possibilities are endless and the experiences are invaluable.
    Providence College - FAQ about "Pre-Med" at PC
    My point stands, Right attacked the pre-med guy as being too old, the earliest you can apply is 21, the average age of metriculation into med school is 26.
    Why did Right do this? Is he an elitist prick? Is it that the guy is wanting to "stop being gay" thus offending Right's liberal social activist side?
    Was he making a bad joke?
    Either way, egotiff, you're off target here bud, way off target.
