    Microsoft misses analyst expectations

A little wake up call to green shoots galore. Microsoft took a pretty big drop in revenue (17%), and there are many who are seeing huge tech losses in the coming week.

Microsoft posted a steeper-than-expected 17 percent drop in quarterly revenue and said its business continued to be hurt by the weak global PC and server markets, sending its shares tumbling.

Microsoft earned $3.045 billion, or 34 cents a share in its fiscal fourth quarter, on sales of $13.1 billion, compared with $4.297 billion, or 46 cents a share, on sales of $15.84 billion in the same period last year.

It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

Eh, I expect their stock to surge upward in October, after the release of Windows 7. Which is just in time for "early" holiday shopping!

They didn't make as much as they did this time last year? Gosh, who'da thunk it?

Despite my general hatred of Microsoft, I will refrain from attacking them, only because of my even greater hatred for the analysts. The amount of companies who commit suicide by trying to meet quarterly expectations of analysts is just obscene. Corporate strategy should not be decided to meet the highly inaccurate guesses of unreliable "experts".

    Why hate Microsoft?

Nationalism in high dosages may be hazardous to your health. Please consult a psychiatrist before beginning a regular regimen, and if feelings of elitism and douchbaggery continue, discontinue immediately before you become unable to do so on your own.
