AP NewsBreak: Palin implicated in ethics probe

Sarah Palin resigned, they are attacking a American citizen that has about the same amount of power as me politically. They are using the full force of the government on a US citizen?... Joe the Plumber anyone?

Joe the Plumber? You mean the guy that came out of nowhere and said he was a plumber, but didn't have a license, and all of a sudden is a hit on the talk show circuit, but never plumbed a water line in his life?

Repeat after me - A political creation, not a plumber. This is where the Republican party failed. Instead of going after the Democrats on real issues, they make stuff up, like Joe the Plumber.

Palin will beat every ethic complaint that comes her way, she always does.

Not a wise thing to say.

They may discover that she allowed her daughter to use the governor's private washroom once, and that would be nepotism.

After what's already been done to destroy that woman's career, one would think even the red koolaid drinkers would at least monetarily arouse from their drug induced Messianic awe and wonder what happened to the America they grew up in.

It doesn't bother you that a person that's been charged by your crew a minimum of fourteen times, with zero strikes is being charged yet once again, this time for questions regarding how that woman financed her defense against a half-million dollars of completely unfounded charges? Does that sound like the America you're used to, where innocent until proven guilty doesn't mean **** if you people can hound the innocent into bankruptcy with an endless stream of unfounded slanderous charges instead?

Your party invented the politics of personal destruction, your party invented the phrase, and your party is still employing those exact tactics to punish people for excercising their First Amendment right to tell the truth about your party.

You have to be truly proud of all the damage your party has done to America.

If you look for the truth you will find that she actually did not spend anywhere near 1/2 million dollars. The politicas of personal destruction have been caried out very viruently by both sides. Let us not forget the "palling around with terrorists" and the "he's a Muslim, an Arab, a homosexual, a foreigner, etc". Some did their own "personal destruction as did a Governor from New York and NEW Jersey and wait wasn't the last one Don't Cry For Me South Carolina ? And who was that man who hired his mistress who was the wife of his best friend because he can - ? John Ensign's parents paid off their son's mistress. Now that's like PALIN's brand of ethics!!

What great image we give to the rest of the world when our senators have sex in bathrooms ! But I am sure that Palin would say atleast it wasn't in the WhiteHouse !!

Shall we go back and view what damage a party did to this country with Watergate ?

Wasn't it the Palin who fasley accuse someone of palling around with terroists ?

You seem to be saying this case "has no merit", but the independent investigator has "found evidence that Palin may have violated ethics laws by trading on her position in seeking money for legal fees", according to the news story.

The "independent" investigator obviously found enough merit in at least fourteen other cases to cost the governor a half-million dollars in legal defense costs, even though every single one of those fourteen were dismissed as groundless.

There's something exceptionally abusive about continued baseless charges that require time and money to defend against.

What's the matter with you people, anyway? Explain why you are continuing to attack Palin. Last time I checked your Messiah is polluting the White House, racking up trillions of dollars of new debt, nationalizing one industry after another and looking for more, apologizing to America's enemies for being the best, and in general being exactly what one expects a socialist to do.

So why are you people so obsessed with your hatred for Palin that you still continue to pursue war are most obviously completely baseless charges against her, even after she's resigned?

Palin does this stuff to herself. Too bad you can't see it. She asks for it at every turn. Bible Spice will look nice in an orange jumpsuit I think.

Oh, and she has been charged and found guilty on ethics violations before, so don't give me this crap that she hasn't been found guilty before.

Fines?

You mean then that the Clintons actually committed crimes and weren't being relentlessly railroaded for no reason at all.

Since you admit the Clintons committed crimes, why did you support the Red Queen in her positions as Secretary of State? Do you think it's suitable for an admitted criminal to hold that position?

Never liked the Clintons, never voted for the Clintons, you're barking up the wrong tree.

The rabid mouthfoamers just can't help themselves. They going to get Palin on something if it kills them.
Kinda like all those right-wing Clinton probes which amounted to nothing other than lying about getting a Blowjob from a woman outside of marriage (something most men would lie about).....right?

While I haven't really been following the various investigations of Palin, I understand that the majority of them (if not all) to date have come up with nothing.

It will be interesting to see what this one dredges up.

Personally, I think there should be a new “Department of Corruption Elimination”, or some such. They should be tasked with investigating all members of the government bi-yearly for any possible corruption.

Of course, that would likely take half the current federal budget to implement…

That would also require those with a habit of filing baseless ethics accusations be ejected via circus cannon.

You the man !! When an independent like myself says this or some "liberal" says it they scream like screwed geese in a foie gras factory!!!

Yeah, right. You're kissing the clinton's asses by supporting their party and their tactics right now. Tell us something we can't tell is a complete lie when we see it the first time, okay?

Clinton committed perjury, lied to a grand jury, violated his oath of office, and disgraced the presidency. He should have been removed from office. I have no problem saying that. I am not a whore to either party.

I gain more and more respect for you everyday. I think I have found another intelligent conservative that can actually converse! As F107 said, you da man!

IF she actually broke any laws, and mind you this is an ethics investigation by an independent investigator whose ethics including giving reports to the media... she's done.

Let's stop right there, this investigator "leaked" his findings to the AP.

Which makes one wonder how legit his charges really are.

Boy that must have really pissed the PALIN APOLOGISTS OFF that he ""leaked" his findings " huh!!

Nope, was a registered Republican until 2006, when I voted to get my former party out as best I could. I apologize to my fellow American citizens for my stupidity prior to 2006.

For her cynical attitude and her abuse of power. She is a phoney baloney who will eventually get the punishment that she deserves.

So...anything of substance? You know...backed up with those pesky little things called facts?

Honestly, I am shocked that a politician has to pay legal fees out of their own pockets if they win. To me, that just does not seem right. Seems to me, a lot of the lawsuits against Sarah were frivolous at best. So why does she have to pay?

It's true that there's nothing "unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member" in principle.

Yes, and the principle was that if the cabinet member continues to make an ass of himself, he can be fired.

The firing of her cabinet officer was 100% within her juridiction and 100% free of any ethical taint.

Generally speaking, I want ANY governor of ANY state to be able to fire ANY cop who tases his step-son for just about any reason, unless that child actually had a gun or knife in his hand and was intent on committing gross bodily injury to someone.

So, what you're arguing is that the Governor of Alaska should have ignored the fact that the Alaska state police had a lunatic on it's staff who posed a threat to the safety of the public solely because that one individual was also known to the Governor on a personal level.

So, let's pretend that the Governor DIDN"T get this guy fired. What would you be saying right now, if that guy tased or shot another child? Hmmmmm?

The rabid mouthfoamers just can't help themselves. They going to get Palin on something if it kills them.

The ultimate line under all this is:

"How DARE anyone reverse, even for a little while, the slide McCain had in the polls and make our Messiah look like he was failing? We're going to punish and punish and chop into little peices and punish the little peices until everyone else can see the Holy Vengeance We will wreak upon those that impede the Divine Will of His Most Holy Messiah."

That's what the politics of personal destruction is all about, they're destroying Palin as a message to everyone who wants to reach out to the Americans.

They're still worried that the Messianic Moment might collapse.

Oh so those of us who demand honest, fair, ehical, and legal behavior from our elected officials are "rabid mouthfoamers" ?

Well, no. No one on your side is demanding anything resembling fairness, ethics, honesty, or even Constitutional government. You're cheering on a bunch of rabid haters who haven't yet managed, in at least fifteen tries, to hang anything on your victim.

Ethical behavior from our elected officials means not tacking on 300 pages of unread unvoted amendments onto a major bill, the Crap&Trade bill, to pay certain representatives to vote for the bill. Your support of the Messiah lends your support to actions like that. Highly unethical, that.

Legal behavior would mean that your Messiah would fire his Attorney General who decided to drop a race-related voter intimidation case simply because the president, the Attorny General, and the intimidators were all the same race, since that was clearly an illegal act in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment's equal protection clause.

Perhaps many of the people on the left here who are celebrating and condemning Palin should wait until the results of the ethics probe are revealed before they start cutting the cake. And not surprisingly much of this thread is business as usual pointless Palin bashing.

This obsession with Palin is aboslutely maniacal. Everything she says or does is put under an electron microscope by rabid leftists who can't even be bothered to take a glance at their corrupt, hypocritical Leader.

Barack Obama flip-flipped on FISA and campaign finance.

Barack Obama criticized John McCain for hiring lobbyists and solemnly swore that no lobbyist would find a job in his White House. He immediately broke his promise.

Barack Obama has hired people with serious tax issues to hold positions of major power within government. The most ironic being our Secretary of Treasury, Tim Geithner.

Before signing the largest domestic spending bill in history, one that nobody read, Obama engaged in a calculated and intense campaign of fear-mongering in order to ram it through the Congress. The predictions he underpinned his fear-mongering with turned out to be absolutely wrong.

Barack Obama unlawfully fired an independent government investigator charged with uncovering waste, fraud, and corruption in government for purely political purposes.

Barack Obama supports rendition policies and indefinite detention of enemy combatants.

All of this is being done by the President of the United States and all you can do is smear the former Governor of Alaska. You people are pathetic.

Kinda like all those right-wing Clinton probes which amounted to nothing other than lying about getting a Blowjob from a woman outside of marriage (something most men would lie about).....right?

You mean Clinton committed a seriouis sexual assualt on a junior employee in direct violation of the federal anti-sexual harassment laws and also committed a felony to try to cover that up.

That's what you're dismissing so negligently because your focused on the (D), not crimes.

This obsession with Palin is aboslutely maniacal. Everything she says or does is put under an electron microscope by rabid leftists who can't even be bothered to take a glance at their corrupt, hypocritical Leader.

They're mesmerised by their Messiah and can't take their eyes off him.

Open eyes do not mean open mind.

To my knowledge none of the charges got into court therefore there wee no court costs. My best recollection is that virtually all charges and investigations have been administrative. There was some cost for deopositions when Palin went and used State of Alaska funds to have her kids travle but she did not pay that the State did.

The so called court costs are just PALIN crying wolf and her apologists tring to gannner sympathy for her.

Your going to have to Google the court costs thing becasue I can't find it.

The so called court costs are just PALIN crying wolf and her apologists tring to gannner sympathy for her.

And this comment is another pointless partisan attack against Palin that has absolutely no substance.
