Wow, I didn't realize that reading text could make it sound like anything. Perhaps you shouldn't jump to conclusions in the future.

People should have never started giving out warnings.

I refuse to give out warnings anymore, screw that, even if I stopped for headlights out a night your getting a ticket for it.

    Crybabies.
I love how Liberals think that just because they're peace loving Liberals they are some how entitled to be treated differently by cops than everyone else and the law some how don't apply to them.

Yeah, because it's just Liberals who think that they don't deserve to get tickets. Not all life can be divided into such simplistic terms as Libs vs. Cons. Try thinking outside of the box.

It sounds to me as if you have pride issues.

Pride gets you NOWHERE when dealing with police, just makes you look like a jack ass, especially if it is unnecessary.

Nah, it's not a pride issue. I just don't kiss anyone's ass because they believe they are somehow superior to me. I am polite to people until they are impolite to me. It's that simple. You can make any conclusions you want, but it changes nothing. I'm not a fan of people with big egos and there are plenty of cops out there who have them. There are also plenty of great cops out there who are nice people. Cops are human beings after all.

Perhaps, if the cops are being too mean to you; meaner than you think you deserve, you should stop and examine your behavoir, before criticizing there's.

I don't think cops are being too mean to me. I've seen certain cops be unnecessarily aggressive towards me and friends of mine in the past where it was completely unwarranted. Those cops are egotistical assholes. Are all cops this way? Absolutely not. As I said earlier, I've met plenty of cops who are great people. But I'm not going to kiss every cop's ass because they think they are somehow superior to me. If you want to suck up to a cop just because they are a cop even if they are being aggressive towards you in an unwarranted way then that's fine for you. I'm just not that way. Deal with it.

"Sucking up" to cops is a good way to stay out of jail. Like it or not.

There've been cops who've treated me as a suspect when I was in the right. There've been several times I've wanted to slug a cop. My better judgment told me not to. Because disagreeing, arguing, screaming, kicking, or otherwise throwing a hissy fit towards a cop will get you only one thing... trouble.

I saw a short clip of the professor on tonight's news. He said the cop came into the situation with a 'predetermined point of view.' Well, there was at least one man in that home with a 'predetermined point of view,' and I'm not sure one of them was the cop.

I think it's fair to be pissed off if you're being suspected of breaking into your own house, but ultimately the good professor could have simply made one snide remark and everyone would have went about their day. Yelling at a police officer for minutes on end when the officer is trying to leave is just dumb.

Your has been the most measured and adult reponse that I have read in this thread thus far. I had read and heard a few stories about this topic since last night and I would conclude that the professor badly over-acted to what appears to have been a police officer doing what he was supposed to do. My feeling is that the 'good' professor reacted as a steotypical Black man because he assumed that the police officer was a stereotypical White man.

The professor should appologize for over-reacting and be glad that the police responded to what could have been a home invasion.
I do not recall the Viet Cong asking me if I was a natural born or Naturalized American before they shot at me, they just shot at all of us f107HyperSabr
