4 accused of digging bodies, reselling grave plots

Aps posted(How anyone can dismember a body is just beyond my comprehension. It takes a sick, sick mind to do that.)

If there is a perception of profit in something (legal / Moral or otherwise) then their will always be people who will take whatever risk to realize that perceived profit.

In many instances a religious belief comes into question with regards to the disposal of a corpse, burial is called for.

Yes it can and indeed does take up room that will (in future) be required.

Many people are against organ donation (rightly or wrongly) this is their belief and in a so called democracy they are permitted to have these rights over what happens to their bodies.

The largest problem with cremation is the release of toxins into the atmosphere.

My suggestion is that any body be allowed to decompose in a coffin that is built of wholly natural materials, that any use of embalming mixtures be prohibited.

I do not see it as any different then say butchering a cow. What makes it any different?

I wish people would just get cremated. Stop taking up space on the earth for your body to rot. Donate any good organs and cremate yourself. JMO

You'd never sell that to Muslims/Arabs. I don't know if it's a religious thing, or a cultural thing, but Arab Muslims have an incredible fear of being burned.

For me, there is no difference. I could NEVER do either, although the human body just seems so much worse (maybe because it resembles my own body?).

But there is a difference. Dismembering an animal for food purposes is not sick (although I cannot stand the thought of it (but I am a meat eater)). But someone cutting up a human body in a non-medical way--I want to throw up!

Really? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that. Serious question--why were they willing to get burned on flights that occurred on 9-11? Was it the promise of lots of women?

Interesting point. I don't have an answer. Muslim terrorists are willing to blow themsleves up, too. Maybe they see a difference between getting blowed up and getting burned, or maybe they're just fanatical enough not to care.

I do know from first hand experience that Muslims/Arabs are scared ****less, in a really freaky way, of being burned. It doesn't matter if they burned to death, or burned after death, they get silly, freaky scared of that possibility.

I don't know what the deal is. I haven't been able to get an asnwer from any of the Muslims I've asked about it. It's as if it's such a frightening idea, that they don't care to even explain why. Weird!

When I first heard this I was disgusted and surprised. Then I heard that it happened in or near Chicago so I am just disgusted, ain't no surprise there.

Ditto. That's my plan. I'm going to have my ashes spread somewhere very beautiful. As for my organs, well, they're probably going to be pretty used up after I'm done with them. My liver might be useful to someone as a doorstop, but that's about it.

If you look at the history of embalming you will learn that the practice came about in an effort to prevent being buried alive. I would imagine that medical science has progressed to a point where that is impossible, so the need for embalming (especially if one isn't going to have an open-casket funeral) has probably passed.
