How is that startling at all?

So you think bonds are safe? Do you make bonds an important part of your portfolio?

The Treasury Department sold the 10-year notes at a yield of 3.365%, well below where it was expected to come, traders said.

    well below expected = startling.

It's not buying into it, it does work. You want to eliminate it all.

If you want welfare, unemployment or whatever reform to keep people being on it for 3 generations, I am all for it. But to say we need to get rid of it entirely I call BS. I've seen the good it can do.
It's an abused system, and it's stealing. You support it. No one ever said get rid of all support and you know it, but you support it unabated.

American, you really need to learn to read before responding.

I even said if you are wanting REFORM, I am all for that. How is that supporting it unabated when I want it to change?

And yes, I know of at least one conservative here that said it would be better to get rid of ALL social programs and stick it into the National Defense budget.

Not from me. Although Constitutionallly, these programs are questionable. I believe in charity more than govt programs.

I'm not sure who you are referring to but I do feel it would be good to remove every single federal social program.

The more we spend time and energy arguing and electing federal politicians based on this things, the more we ignore the issues we actually formed a national government for.

Most of your emotionally charged examples you used are already decided at the state level - like sexual assault of children.

Well, we can always appoint someone to regulate the regulaters. Then, someone to regulate the regulater who regulate the regulaters. After that, we'll hire some guys to regulate the regulaters regulating the regulater that regulates the first set of regulaters who regulate the stock market.

Yes, those people are much better off if they're not hired at all.

Yeah, child labor was so immoral that it happened. Women in prostition was so immoral it happened. Spare me.

If you think there should be no regulation, you are giving the corporations to do what they HAVE DONE PROVEN IN HISTORY.

Tell me what government gets from saying a child under a certain age cannot work in a factory?

No, you just want unregulated capitalism to put children to work and women as whores.

It's amazing how emotional they can get on the Left when they can't counter sound arguments, isn't it?
