Obama administration said Tuesday it could continue to imprison non-U.S. citizens

In other wards, you have been beaten with the FACTS and realize that it would be futile to continue your uninformed desperate attempts to fabricate anything that can support your absurd assertions.

Thanks Dan, carry on, it was a pleasure to help educate you! :2wave:

you were beaten up badly in this debate Truth reflector.

Nooooooooooooo, it's more like I can't continue this sort of a discussion with someone who simultaneously trusts the government because it takes a position he agrees with in one area and distrusts the government because it takes a position he disagrees with in another area -- all at the same time.

Either the government is worthy of your trust, or it is not.

I'll never understand anyone who believes the government is competent to decide who does or does not deserve a right as essential as habeas corpus, while at the same time believing that the government is not competent enough to run (as others would phrase it) 1/7th of the economy.

How about those of us who were so angry with Bush and the Republican party in general that we decided that a little schooling was in order come Election Day?

Little did I, for one, know that I was about to be schooled myself.

Oh well.

Yeh, if we had listened to you, Sarah Palin would be an old man's heartbeat away from being president. Even if he was an empty headed liar, I would prefer Obama to that horror.

So no comment on Obama doing exactly what you railled against bush for?

Wrong, but at least you are consistent; you attempted to support a ridiculous absurd claim with nothing more than speculative diatribe and your weak efforts to support the foolish claim only served to make you look even more ridiculous.

Without any precedence and ZERO facts, you make an absurd claim that the Government can just go about declaring US citizens non-citizens and make them enemy combatants in a debate about alien non-uniformed enemy combatants being held at Guantanamo.

Carry on. :2wave:

I have always been amused by this simplistic view; we are going to show them Republicans by voting in the mentally challenged morons we now have running Government.

Yep, you REALLY showed them didn't you? :rofl

Little did I, for one, know that I was about to be schooled myself.

Oh well.

They say that the first stage to recovery is admitting you made a mistake or have a problem; this is a positive sign you are on the road to recovery.

But alas, it continues to BEG the question, what was it about Bush's Presidency that made you so mad as to abandon all reason? Was it the war?

Why weren't Independents just as mad at Democrats who voted for it in the majority as well?

Was it the economy? Hard to blame the economy as it was one of our better times considering the devastation post 9-11, fighting two wars and Katrina.

I am always bemused by this anger for a man who had the most Bi-Partisan legislation in recent memory and had overwhelming support in everything he did, that is until after he did them.

As The Obama has the only qualification that matters to you -- a (D) next to his name -- this is no surprise.

Um, no. It is the government which decides what conditions and circumstances constitute the conditions under which someone can be accused of being and treated like an alien enemy combatant.
However true that may be, the important issue here is "alien".
Citizens, by definition are not "aliens", and so citizens never need be concerned with being classed an alien enemy combatant

After all, the Military Commissions Act of 2006 gave the government the authority to decide who an unlawful enemy combatant was. What makes you think they can't decide what defines an alien enemy combatant?
See above.
