It's an unnatural progression for sure.

Most of my coworkers have no interest on going to school at all.
They are nice people and can be enjoyable to be around but their overall behavior is very poor.

Non union, I would almost violently fight against one trying to set up shop here.

My company provides excellent benefits without the need of a union.
Hell, its in my best interest not only as an employee but as a stock holder to fight a union.

^^So how do the employees act so badly? Is there no threat of losing their job?

It's more of their personal behavior than work ethic.

Buying lottery tickets, no interest in education, no financial planning (savings, investment, etc.), I can guarantee that almost everyone there drinks it up on the weekends, buying stuff at rent to own stores, that kind of stuff.

^^Oh I see, well I guess that they don't have an impetus to change until they have the threat of losing a job.

That's right, a lost job may actually be a good thing. I said it.

Pretty much, even then I doubt it will change much.

Working in a blue collar field has taught me a lot.
Most importantly that, the majority of the problems "The Poor" face are manifestations of their own doing.

I've tried explaining why rent to own stores are a terrible way to buy something you want, it hasn't had any affect.
I've tried to counsel people on saving and investing and again no one cares, they wish to live in excess.

^^It seems like you're doing pretty well though, so maybe not all hope is lost.

I grew up in an upper middle class family that had terrible financial planning skills. You learn a lot watching your parents fail.
My grandfather, however, was/is extremely smart with his money and taught me enough about investing to explore it on my own.

My reasons for being a blue collar worker are my own personal failures in my early life. I didn't finish high school, had a child by my 18th birthday and some other things I consider stupid.

The thing is though, that no matter how crappy you've done things before, you can always change.

    it's that easy.

Why should American consumers pay more for goods just because some "American" worker is demanding too much money to do the job here?

Why should American consumers pay more for goods just because his own government is demanding too much tax money from the company?

Why should American consumers pay more for a product just because The Messiah imposed a completely ridiculous Crap&Trade scam to bilk money from power companies which naturally raised energy costs for manufacturers in the US?

Why should a business being attacked on all sides by the US government and the goonions hire employees here when he can hire them in Bangladesh and no deal with the nonsense any more?
    Indeed.
Why should Americans enjoy prosperity when Indians and Africans do not?

Why should Americans be able to own a car and a home when other workers are willing to do without?

Why should American workers be able to send their children to college when college is unheard of for third world working families?

Why should American workers be able to earn enough to give their children a better chance at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when workers throughout the world do not have such rights?

You're right. But thankfully all of these differences are coming to an end thanks to the wisdom of the global economy.
