Yeah? I've asked for proof, too and ain't got jack **** from anyone. All I;ve gotten was the suggestion that I suck ****--which is nobody's business-- been called a homophobe and a liar. I need some Old Millwuakie, 'cause it just don't get no better than this.

1. I find it interesting that you claim others accuse you of sucking **** (where did they do this?) and not only that, you don't deny said accusations of sucking ****.
2. I never called you a homophobe and you've yet to prove that.
3. People have been asking you from the beginning to provide proof of your claims and you have yet to do it.
4. The strange non-sequitur beer reference makes me think that you are starting to lose your marbles.

Is it just me or is apdst's main problem that gay/lesbian people serve in the army period? That won't change no matter what you do.

If you're in the shower with another gay who doesn't tell you he's gay, how is that any better or worse than one who does? Aren't you still sharing the shower with a gay guy?

I mean you really have no argument apdst. If you support DADT, you still have gay/lesbian people serving in the army, sharing sleeping/bathing quarters with other soldiers, corrupting their minds (or whatever you think will happen to them). However, even if this country had the same mentality as you, how do you stop gay/lesbian people from joining the armed forces?
 
apdst, I'm curious.

Since 9/11, a disturbingly large number of gays have been dishonorably discharged under DADT. Many of these gays had Middle Eastern language skills that were desperately needed to decode and monitor communications from suspected terrorists. Thus, the elimination of staff caused huge backlogs of data regarding terrorist communications.

Do you believe that your stance on DADT makes this country safer in light of that circumstance?

Do you value the safety of the country you swore to protect more or your own personal emotional feelings?

Wrong. Guys who spend every waking minute together know each other. The guys in this man's unit knew that he was gay. Just because a man is gay doesn't mean like he's going to act like a knob slobbering idiot every time he's around other men. Jesus.

Every active duty person I know, and I know a few, support overturning DADT. They just don't speak out on the subject because THEY CAN'T. Active duty military personnel aren't really allowed to speak out on policy issues.

True, but this is one thing that would have been an easy fix, and is also squarely on the shoulders of the president to change. it doesn't even require legislative support. It's an executive order.

I don't think ****ing with the military in a time of war is a good thing. Wait until the troops are home if you are going to mess with them.


Personally, being who he is, I don't think he is the one that should do this at all. If it is done, it should be done by a president with a military background, not an anti-military background.

If we repeal DADT, they will all start walking around with mega-hard raging boners in the showers. :2razz:

All the rules that apply to protecting straight servicemembers from harrassment, rape, assault from other straight servicemembers would apply to gay servicemembers as well. Thats to say, if a gay servicemember were to sexually assault a straight person, they could be charges and if a straight servicemember assaulted a gay servicemember, for being gay, they would be charged too. Its all already covered.

As long as they don't play rave music at the barracks, its not a big deal.
