Gay West Point grad testifies before Army

Apdst, are you worried about sexual harassment cases going through the roof because gay men will open doors for other men?

How many times are you going to post that silly ****? I read it the first time. Feeling left out, or something?

SIERRA VISTA — Fear is keeping Pvt. Kyle Lawson awake at night — not of the enemy, but of his fellow soldiers.
For weeks, the 19-year-old Tucson native has been sleeping on a cot in his drill sergeant's office to protect him from further attacks because he is gay.
He's already had his nose broken — and says he also was threatened with a knife — after a friend let Lawson's secret slip at a party attended by members of the 309th Military Intelligence Battalion, a training unit at Fort Huachuca 75 miles southeast of Tucson.

Nope. You're making a claim that this won't be a problem. You're going to have to back that up. Don't forget the documentation of males and females regularly sharing showers. Can't wait for that one.

Hey, newsflash...gay men are still men. They get to use the men's facilities. In fact, they've been doing it for years without any problem up till now.

So, what unit were you in?

Well you didn't respond. Perhaps if you would defend your own ridiculous arguments instead of slinking away with your tail between your legs when you get owned, I wouldn't need to re-post them. ;)

Now then:

1) You post an absurd claim that sexual harassment cases are going to go through the roof if gays are allowed to openly serve.
2) I asked why you thought that gays couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
3) You said that it didn't matter if they could keep their hands to themselves, since (according to you) people can be charged with sexual harassment just for opening doors.

...ergo...

You are saying that sexual harassment cases will go through the roof because gay people will open doors for other men, and similar "offenses." If I missed something, please explain what forms of sexual harassment you ARE worried about, exactly.

Nothing in all that indicates sexual harassment becoming a problem for heterosexual soldiers at the hands of gay soldiers.

But it did say something very interesting...

Arguments like Donnelly's have surfaced in two dozen countries that legalized gay military service, said Belkin, who runs the research center on gays in the military. But the problems predicted never came to pass, he said.
U.S. troops in Iraq and elsewhere already serve with openly gay troops from Britain, Australia and other allied nations without incident, Belkin said.

You gonna keep making silly comments based on my word, or make an actual argument based on your own experience in the military, or with documentation? Which is it going to be?

You want your daughter sharing showers with male soldiers?

So, what unit were you in?

It's interesting that you aren't willing to be held to the same standards that you hold others to. How many gay men have you served with and how many have you had to ward off during shower time? I love how some insecure straight men assume that gay men are just automatically attracted to anything with a penis. I think far too many of these insecure males who worry about getting hit on by gay men flatter themselves far too much.

Gonna have to ask you to back that up with some solid evidence. I know how big you are on supporting docs.

As soon as you provide some backing for your claims, I will happily back up mine. Still waiting....

So, what unit were you in?

I was a nuke at Orlando before they decommissioned that base. But I don't really see where that has any bearing on your defending your absurd claims.

Since you apparently missed this: gay men are not women. Your are comparing apples to oranges.

I hardly think heterosexual soldiers would find comfort in you comparing them to being women in showers with men.

Where you able to keep your hands to yourself when you where in? Did you ever get charges filed when some one opened a door for you, or vice versa?

As is still the case today, my professional life and my personal life were two completely separate entities. So to answer your questions, yes and no, respectively.

As I already told you, it wouldn't be the end of the world if there were no other options. But it's much easier and more practical to separate men from women than to separate gays from straights.

But, but....apdst thinks you all are just raging hormones who are a threat to his peacefully showering or taking a ****. It must be true because he claims it is...

Well all I can say to apdst is it's his own fault for having such a purty mouth.

If he's that worried about it, keep his soap on a string and his privates covered. I would love to hear the roars of laughter in that shower when he explains why he does this to the other recruits.

What if a gay soldier makes a pass at a straight soldier in the latrine? .

Ah, latrines -- so romantic.

So are we to assume here that a straight guy whips it out and is ready to do his thing when a gay guy is just so overcome by pure, animalian lust at the sight of the magestic appendage that he knocks him over the head, and has at it?

I think with a little , ummmmmm, flushing out of some of the plot details, you have the beginning of chapter three in your next literotica installment.

I don't know how many gay soldiers I served with. Never was a concern of mine. Oh, wait, you think I'm homophobic! Shoulda seen that coming. Since I don't agree that the abolition of DADT is the neatest thing since sliced bread, there MUST be something wrong with me. Right?

I already did. It's your turn.

these personal attacks are awesome! gotta love it.

khandahar Posted: What forms of sexual harassment are you worried about, as a result from gay soldiers serving openly?

I'm concerend about there being a break down in discipline. That will cause soldiers to lose their lives. I find it awfully easy for those who aren't currently on duty to not worry about that.

Read AR 600-20, Chapter 7, Pg. 65 and educate yourselves as to the broad definition of sexual harrassment in the military. Enjoy.

Here I go again....

I served openly gay in the military after DADT was made law (1993-1997). The mission was never compromised, and my comrades did not care about it. As a matter of fact, many of them went to gay bars with me.

If there is a combat situation and someone is concerned about what the person next to them is thinking about sexually, then it is that person who cannot focus on the mission and they do not belong in the military. That goes for heterosexuals and homosexuals.

The last thing on my mind when in a life or death situation is sex.

You don't even get it.

nevermind.

What was your MOS and how much trigger time did you get in those four long years?

No you did not. You posted the military policy on sexual harassment(which does not mention anything remotely like opening doors for anyone), and a story of a gay soldier. No proof that there is any more problem with sexual harrassment due to DADT, nor evidence that gay soldiers openly serving would cause an increase in sexual harassment charges.

Well then teach me, sensei. When you mentioned the gay guy making a pass in a latrine, were you thinking something a little kinkier, perhaps? Is the choice of a latrine signifigant, not because of the exposed penis, but something else?

The choice of a latrine for your hypothetical fantasy here MUST have some signifigance, so perhaps if you said how it is signifigant I might better understand.

A New Push to Roll Back ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’

Marking the 14th anniversary of legislation that allowed gay men and lesbians to serve in the military but only if they kept their orientation secret, 28 retired generals and admirals plan to release a letter on Friday urging Congress to repeal the law.

We respectfully urge Congress to repeal the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy,” the letter says. “Those of us signing this letter have dedicated our lives to defending the rights of our citizens to believe whatever they wish.”

The retired officers offer data showing that 65,000 gay men and lesbians now serve in the American armed forces and that there are more than one million gay veterans.

“They have served our nation honorably,” the letter states.

Just thought you might be interested in this.

What was your MOS and how much trigger time did you get in those four long years?

I was a medic who was trained to be in combat, as all military medics are. During the training, I never heard my sexuality mentioned as an issue, not once. That should be the last thing on a person's mind in those situations.
