This is why I could never be an attorney. I could not defend a POS like this without doing all I could to help the prosecution put it away for life. Notice, I said it, not him. Those who rape children are not human, nor do they deserve to be treated as such. Somebody call the Orkin man.

Thank God she's alive. I hope she will be able to heal from this experience and live a long and happy life.

Child rapists are scum. No question.

They are, however, like the rest of us, innocent until proven guilty.

Justin Shine should have a vigorous defense--not because of his rights, but because of everyone else's rights.
 
I agree, CL. It's a shame that because we must protect the rights of the innocent, we must protect the rights of the guilty with the same zeal. But there is no other option.

However, after his fair trial, I sincerely hope he is found guilty and thrown in general population where Bubba, Tyrone, and various members of the Aryan brotherhood have their way with him Oz-style.

Although I think the death penalty is too lenient.

Life in prison without the possiblity of parole, or even better, solitary confinement...

If he has done what he is accused of hopefully he will pay the price. Hopefully Massachusetts is not lenient on child predators like Vermont.

This is why I was disappointed when the conservative supreme court banned the federal death penalty for child rapists.

When someone harms a child in that way, they are essentially telling the rest of us they don't belong here. They have lost one of the most human of instincts, to protect the young.

I still say death is too good for them.

Lock them all in a large room together for the rest of their lives...
 
Nothing I'd love to do more than agree with the crowd on this one, but if you allow the death penalty for child rape, you're encouraging child rapists to murder their victims-- same penalty either way, and you're less likely to be convicted with one less witness.

As much as it pains me to let got of my idealogy that child predators should be tortured to death, I think you are right.:(

Oh, you can keep it as an ideology. We need something extreme like that to keep the "compromise" punishment something in the realm of life without parole.

Not to mention rats feasting on the living flesh of such garbage is a fun fantasy, n'est ce pas?

Because we live in a system of law and order and we must respect due process. Unless you want to live like a group savages like this was lord of the flies, you must accept that fact.
