I agree with you to the extent that the casus belli has not been made. Direct military intervention at this time would be premature and disastrous.

I do believe events could unfold which would make the casus belli, to where military intervention becomes a matter of self-interest and practical necessity.

Khomeini's opposition to secularism would have been the case even had Mossadegh been allowed to remain in power. Ahmadinejad is the inevitable outgrowth of that opposition. Without the 1953 coup, he might have been President sooner or later--but once the Ulema in Iran reasserted themselves and reversed the trends of secularism in Iran, the likes of Ahamdinejad at the helm of Iran were a foregone conclusion.

Military intervention is suicide on our part.

I cannot think of any event in which i would advocate UK sending troops. Not even one.

You are forgetting the discussion we had previously regarding various means of delivering nuclear weapons to a target. Ballistic missile capability is not a requirement (although do remember Iran has already demonstrated launch capability by placing a satellite into orbit).

Erm, Israel is a close ally of US, Not UK.
US is an ally of UK.

Two out of three is the best we'll get i suppose. Sure, invade or just cripple Iran.
