I never said he wasn't a person. I'm just saying that I don't tie his music to his personal life. His music was good, his personal life; not so much.

I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

I started this thread to lament the prioritie shown by the president, the media, and others. Obama did come out with a statement and I brought that information to this thread in post #3 I believe.

But right now its sick out there. You can not turn on any media without hearin non stop jackson crap. It's pathetic.
Yes, Rev. Your thread IS a cheap shot.

You're trying to tie in politics with the death of a musical icon known and beloved the world over. Pathetic!

You claim bias in the media and attempt to equate the Iranian politican uprising and Pres. Obama's limited public denouncing of the Iranian people's political struggles w/the continued media coverage of said musical icon. Again, weak and pathetic.

If he were any other person in the musica and entertainment world, I'm sure media coverage would be so-so. Look at how Farrah Fawcett's death has been pushed to the back burner. She'll get her due and her burial will be very subdued compared to Michael's, but honestly Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett aren't anywhere close to being on the same level nationally or internationally. So, I expected media coverage on Michael's death to be as it is; the same thing happened when Elvis Presley and Princess Diana died. So, hearing his name or seeing images of him constantly in the news right now doesn't surprise me. What does is this thread and comments made by yourself and others like you who don't seem to have enough compassion to let a man die in peace thinking more of the positives he accomplished in his life than the negatives. I could see if this was, say...Charles Manson. But not with Michael Jackson. You said you didn't like Michael Jackson, the man, but somehow stating that you liked his music is suppose to excuse you from judging him? Lame...

We live in a country where the justice system is suppose to be fair. Michael Joseph Jackson had his day in court and was found innocent. Granted, there will be many who believed him to be guilty just as there were many (like myself) who believed OJ was guilty. But on OJ's death bed just as with Michael Jackson, I will choose to celebrate his many accomplishments in life rather than focus on alleged cruelties he may have committed. If he had been convicted of wrong doing, I'd probably do a mixture of saddness for the lost of a great world renouned entertainer, as well as speak out on the child molestation "conviction". But since he was never convicted, I choose to let that go. As many radio DJs have said, "(paraphrase)...you let that go; now is not the time for debate on that issue. Instead, now is the time to remember and reflect on how great a singer, song writer, vocal musician and renouned entertainer Michael Jackson was, of the many charities he contributed to, and the significance of his music that is ever-lasting".

It is utterly appauling that you (and others who have chosen to speak out more on the negative rather than the positive) would stoop so low as to attempt to use the death of a man - no matter your opinion of him - as a spring board to tie in your political agenda.

    Disgraceful...classless...despicable.

Hmm, I don't recall you being so outraged when people went after Palin's kids, yet here you are pretending to be upset because I commented on Obama's statement about that boy diddler dead guy Jackson.

positive he made music... the negative, he probably was a child molester, yeah lets just celebrate the positive.

    Disgraceful...classless...despicable.

Your feigned outrage is a joke. Thanks for the laugh.

But the irony, is this is how I see someone who wants to look "at the positive" and not the "negative" as if we can just not look at the molestation charges.

Those three words describe you well.

    4) Therefore, Obama is a baby clubber.
