Unimaginable Horror In Tehran Today (Baharestan Square Massacre)

    Unimaginable Horror In Tehran Today

An Iranian blogger (whose URL I will not publish) live blogging from Baharestan Square in central Tehran today captures but brief glimpses of the unimaginable horror that took place today. Bus loads of protesters were stopped and unloaded from their buses by "black-clad police" and literally herded. When the massing was sufficient, as the barely controllably distraught Tehran caller to CNN described first hand, hundreds of the regime's Basij thugs poured out of an adjoining mosque and commenced a massacre with axes, clubs, guns and gas.

From the live blogger's eyewitness account:

    >More than 10.000 Bassij Militias get position in Central Tehran, including Baharestan Sq.
    >Army Helicopters flying over Baharestan and Vali Asr Sq.
    >The streets, squares and around BAHARESTAN (Approx. South-eastern of Tehran) is swarming with military forces, civilian forces, the security motorists
    >The crowd have moved to the south of baharestan, the situation is bad, the shooting has started
    >In Baharestan Sq. in the Police shooting, A girl is shot and the police is not allowing to let them help
    >In Baharestan we saw militia with axe chopping people like meat - blood everywhere - like butcher

This is the Iranian regime, wading into its own unarmed people and axing them to death, bludgeoning women (seen as the greatest threat to the regime) and throwing them to their deaths from pedestrian bridges. The same Iranian regime whose embassy officials are invited to American embassies around the world to celebrate on July 4th, of all things, a successful revolution.

A video from CNN of a phone call to the network from a frantic woman in Tehran:

    Eyewitness: Massacre in Baharestan Square

Reports this morning suggest thousands of police and pro-government militia used guns, clubs and teargas to suppress a large opposition rally in the square.

Speaking to CNN, the unnamed woman said it was a "massacre".

"I was going to Baharestan with my friends ... to express our opposition to these killings and demanding freedom," she said.

"But the black-clad police stopped everyone ... they emptied the buses that were taking people there and let the private cars go on.

"We went on ... and then all of a sudden some 500 people with clubs ... came out of [a nearby mosque], and they poured into the streets and they started beating everyone."

The woman said the attackers started beating people on a pedestrian bridge heading to the square, with some people being thrown over the side.

"They beat a woman so savagely that she was drenched in blood, and her husband who was watching the scene, he just fainted.

"I also saw [the security forces] shooting young people.

"This was a massacre. They were trying to beat people so that they would die. They were cursing... they were beating old men.

"This was exactly a massacre. You should stop this. You should help the people of Iran who demand freedom.

"There were thousands of people on the street.

"I heard the shooting and we just ran away. I didn't see what happened but I'm sure people are dead there."

CNN said another source inside Tehran had described people being "shot like animals".

The witness went on: "In the previous days they are killing students with axes, they put the axe through the heart of young men, and it's so devastating I don't know how to describe it.

"This is horrific, this is genocide, this is a massacre, this is Hitler. And you people should stop it. It's time to act."

Holy ****. They are literally being slaughtered in the streets. Something now has to be done to help these people, the time for words is over.

That's it. Upon confirmation of these reports, we should be willing to send military assistance into Iran. If that's the way it's going to be, arm the protestors with American weapons and join the fight. I don't really see much else we can do if all this is true.

We can remain quiet and call for the Iranians to show restraint, anything else will play into AmeJ and the Ayottolas hands.

Are you saying they are killing their own people just to goad us into action?

I am ok with playing into their hands at this point. At the end of a big ole bomb on the Ayatollas house again.

If the reports are confirmed, then there is little else to do.

If the reports are confirmed, I would fervently hope the world would join in a bit of "meddling" in Iran.

Probably won't even hear a peep about this since Michael Jackson died. Nice priorities our media has, huh?
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.
