Michael Jackson -- Cardiac Arrest

It's a daddy/daughter thing, I think. :3oops:

Got three of them. Impossible to describe that connection. Can't imagine what that poor girl is going through, or if one of my own had to go through that.

Take care of yourselves, dads everywhere.

As bad as it sounds to say it a big part of me feels that the kids are probaly better off without him around. Maybe now they will have some sort of a chance at a halfway normal life.

I doubt they will ever have what we'd consider a normal life whether Michael was alive or not. I truly feel bad for them as, whether he was creepy or not, he was their father and they obviously feel a great deal of love for him. I certainly am in no danger of being father of the year, and I can only hope that my baby girl feels that sort of love for me.

I do feel very bad for them. I know what it is like to lose a parent but I still feel that they will be better off in the long run.

Since they had the memorial today, does that mean that the freak show is over?

Oh...no....no. There's still some pennies and dimes for the media to squeeze out from this. Just last year the media was making money off of "Michael the pedophile." Today, it's "Michael the talented Pop God and how he will be missed."

I detest the media.

Almost.

The news coverage of him will dwindle to almost nothing now that he's been buried, but when the results of the autopsy are released there'll be another spike in MJ media coverage.

And... when the huge mess that is his estate is finally probated, there will be another media spike, as well as another one when the final guardianship of his children is determined.

But for the most part, the media circus is over.

It would be nice for the media to go back to distorting news on Iran like they were before Michael Jackson died.

Fear not. If anything in this world is consistent, it's the media's disgusting craving for sensationalism and "story."

Not the answer I was looking for, Gunny...:rofl

I watched the memorial (I was at home today and had nothing better to do, so sue me), and the one part that got to me was when his daughter Paris spoke at the end.

Looked fake and rehearsed to me. I didn't see any tears. What was with all the sunglasses? I suspect this kept them from needing to apply the 50 layers of makeup they usually wear.

I don't think that family cares about anybody or anything but money.

We should hope that we've been good parents, but that our children don't grieve too much when we pass.

I think he was using those kids to prove he was "normal" sexually. In reality he had a lot of screws loose and it's a shame those kids were created to scam the world. That whole Debbie Rowe deal was too fake. Before that we had the Lisa Marie fake deal.

I don't think Jackson has any biological children because he probably had his nuts cut off to keep that high voice.

I've never seen sunglasses at funeral's, honestly. I thought Jermain seemed choked up, but he seems like an honest, nice guy. The other's are phony as a $3 bill. The sunglasses seemed like part of the dressup entertainment. I believe the hard part for everyone is now getting used to the world without Michael. He will leave a big void. I do think he went nuts after the fame of "Thriller", but before that he was probably an ok guy. The "Thriller" was just so unique for a video, so fun to watch. Can't imagine that Michael wasn't praised continuously day in and day out for it. That would go to your head.

I think the family's reaction was natural. How could it not be? Though I did hear that Papa Joe was smiling in the front row. I wear my shades to funerals. If it's someone I'm particularly close to, I really don't want to take them off indoors. My eyes swell from crying, and I'm light sensitive anyway.

I'll snark on a myriad of things, and I found that whole MJ was the greatest entertainer of all time vomit inducing. But I just can't question a family's grief at a funeral.

It was a very movining memorial and I cried a lot during the whole thing. Somethings are bothering me. While Paris tears and words touched me? It bugged me that it appeared as if Janet pushed that girl up to the mic.

Another thing that has been bugging me is this that I thought Michael converted to Islam a few years ago and this whole memorial had a Christian church feel to it. Why no talk of Allah? I am prettty sure that in the public death announcement that Jermaine made outside the hospital he said something like you are now with Allah or something like that. Anybody else hear that?

How do you know this?

And why would the insurance company pay out 20 million dollars (perhaps twice) if there was no proof he molested anyone?

Same reason that he had doctors willing to dose out whatever he wanted? He IS Michael Jackson and that is that!?

I liked the memorial alot, very sad
The little kid near the end was cute and i had a tear in my eye when i saw Usher and the Mother crying.

I was crying like crazy when Usher went down and touched that casket. :(

pretty sure at some point I scratched my ass

mind you, i was not watching the freak show, but every now and again, my ass itches

First of all the children should not have been revealed because while living Michael went to great lengths to keep their faces hidden so that they could live a normal life. Now that ship has sailed because the stupid grandparents released pictures and crap. The children should be hidden from the public eye, that is best for them and what Jackson wanted. He was a little odd, but he loved his kids.

I don't know about the Islam thing. I think the memorial was more of a open to the public circus than anything. Even the reporters there said that it had more of a feeling of a big concert rather than a memorial service. One reporter even compared it to the grammies. I am glad that Jackson got some recognition, but they should have made it less about the performers and more about Jackson. Usher did not even know Jackson, who cares what he did. I do not need to know what a bunch of famous celebrities think about a man who may be their idol, but they do not know personally.

Strange because most of the newsfolks I heard speaking about it said it felt like more of a church type service rather than a concert. Most went on about how classy and well done it was. Agree with em cause that was a memorial fit for the King of Pop:)

Same.
That was so sad, i took out tissue for that and you saw him crying.

This whole thing makes me shudder at the thought of our next big celebrity death. When Brad Pitt dies people will be spelling his name out with candles in the desert.

The American obsession with media stars is twisted and sick as well as a telling commentary on the weakening of our moral and intellectual fiber.
