New Unemployment Claims Rise Unexpectedly to 627,000

Big government folks (I refuse to call you liberals, it's a stolen term), this is your big chance to defend minimum wage. If you defend it successfully here then we will have to accept it. Can you defend minimum wage with unemployment near 10%?

I'll sit here waiting.

That's a stretch. So anyone who criticizes Thomas is a racist? Give me a break...

The criticisms that I have raised about Thomas have nothing to do with race, any more than the criticisms that I have raised as to Scalia.

Thomas is widely known for hardly ever participating in meaningful debate...sides almost always with Scalia and hasn't authored any of the major opinions of the court.

Those are a little different criticism that referring to a person of color as "boy" just because that might be acceptable in your circle of friends.

Of course not. Your particular criticisms, on the other hand, are rooted in many of the same stereotypes that your ilk love to accuse conservatives of perpetuating.

Do you accuse Breyer of mindlessly following stevens? Roberts of mindlessly following Alito? If not, why not?

Too funny!...I addressed every issue you raised in your thread. Are you trying to say that an op-ed piece is definitive proof?
The article you linked basically said that Thomas doesn't participate in the discussions because he prefers to sit back and listen. Pu-lease.....
The man is a light-weight, not because of his ethnicity but because of his brain....and to think he replaced Justice Marshall who was a brilliant and intelligent man.

Because even though I do not always agree with their decisions, they have all shown a willingness to participate and their opinions display a thought process.

Thomas is more like Scalia. Scalia's opinions are the most convoluted and "ends justify the means" opinions written.

I don't understand how it could be hard to get a job?

I'd say a majority of the unemployed (Real Estate, Lawyers, etc.) are too prideful to get a job.. in say.... retail.

I am not trying to offend anybody and I apologize if I am. But I just don't get it. I know a few former Vice Executives who now deliver pizza for Pizza Hut. They haven't given in their tie for pizza, but they are on a hiatus and are finding ways to develop their "real" job, while they provide for their families.

When the Amateur in Chief Obama is through wrecking the economy with his CAP ON TRADE, ECONOMIC GROWTH, JOBS CREATION, and more, the price of every commodity sold in this country including, food, electricity, gasoline, and everything else, will skyrocket as Obama wants to see then the unemployment rates we see today will seem low in comparison.
The next shoe to fall is going to be the direct attack on citizens lives with the forced euthanasia the Dictator in Chief Obama wants as a provision on the CARELESS HEALTH PLAN.

He was not dishonest and their was nothing even remotely racist about his comment.

The term "your boy" has nothing to do with race, at all. Now if he had said "that boy" you mite have had a case.

In the end it is nothing but an ad-hom and completely and utterly irrelevant to his comment.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Its clearly obvious when anyone refers to President Obama as "boy"....they are doing so in a racist way. Especially when they say things like "it used to matter to me"......indicates that this is an on going thing....not just a slip of the tongue. Just calling it like it is.

Sure, I mean you obviously know more about the supreme court than Jan Greenberg. Good point.

Also, if you actually knew anything about the court like you profess to, you would know that the Blackmun papers that she references are primary source documents that completely prove what she's saying.

I love Thurgood, but your claim that he's brighter than Thomas is just based on the fact that you think you like Thurgood more than Thomas. You haven't offered a single intelligent comment on this topic yet.

I've said numerous times on here. I will hire any and every college educated individual who wants a job to work for me at minimum wage.
