Palin reimburses Alaska $8K for 19 family trips

I don't understand why she would reimburse Alaska the money if she did no wrong. Surely she's not backing down to "liberal criticisms"?

She doesn't want it used against her when she runs for Prez.

She doesn't want old news to bite her in the ass if she decides to run for POTUS. Not bad thinking for a dim bulb like her. She must have good handlers besides great legs.

Politicians haul their families around on the tax payers nickel all the time.

But they don't charge the state for staying at home or in a house you own like she did. So she pays and it is over with.

It didn't see anything about a house in the OP. Did I miss it?

When she dances on the edge of the envelope what can you expect other than that her foot will step on the wrong side of morality. A low or poor moral behavior is not a function party affiliation or ideological leaning. I do not for one nano second believe that all the allaegations are false.

While they found no wrongdoing, I think it shows poor judgment on her part. If I travel for work, I would NEVER EVER EVER think that the company should pay for my husband and/or my son. Hello? Are you kidding me? Yes, I am not a governor, but I think I would have the conscience and logic to think that the state paying for my entire family to travel was inappropriate. The fact that she reimbursed the money says she knows she behaved questionably.

I can understand that for me and you but we aren't governor's either. And previously, all the other first family's traveled with the governors at will and without question. And no, the fact that she repaid the money does not show questionable behavior; it shows a commitment to the reform she ran on.

But she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. If she hadn't paid money, everyone would be all like "ZOMGWTFTHINKOFTHECHILDREN!!! She didn't pay one cent back" but since she did graciously reimburse the state everyone is still all "ZOMGWTFTHINKOFTHECHILDRENShepaidthemoneybackburnthewitch!!!"

It's disgusting and nothing short of absolute hysterics.

I'm very disappointed in you. :(

What a sexist thing to say coming from such a feminist. But I guess she just isn't the right kind of female to deserve a little respect from her peers. She doesn't have a coathanger hanging from her cooch with a dead fetus dangling from it, huh?

When she charge back the state there was something about it involving a place that she did not actually have to pay rent. I think this is what she was paying back. It was not wrong what she did it was just a case that it looked bad. This came up during the campaign.

Uh, yeah they do. The governor of Alaska doesn't have a designated residence like many other states.

No, you didn't. But that doesn't stop certain elements on this forum from turning every Palin thread into a **** flinging festival just to try to make something stick. You can't discuss Palin without total reefer madness style hysteria from taking over.

It really doesn't matter what you believe at this point, does it? But no, let's not let facts like the dismissals by a board specifically designated to police unethical activities get in the way of your smears and rants.

I challenge you to demonstrate poor moral (although you really mean ethical) behavior on Palin's part. Please provide supporting links, analyses, and citations. Thanks.

I'm not really expecting you to do this considering your history here, but one can hope for a little integrity, right?

Really? Cuz she owns her house and the issue was that she used her stipend while living at home. Just like all the previous Alaskan governors. Please provide citations that point to any wrong-doing on her part.

And what she was paying back was some, not all, of the family travel expenses.

She is just cleaning up her droppings before she runs for the 2012 POTUS parade.

What I recall is that she was recieving per diem for living the time she stayed in what is her 'Alaska' home town- Vasalla or Vacancia instead of the facilities and/or office space that the state provdes for the governor. That came up during the RUN FOR POTUS parade must be where you get the 'house' thing from. I do not recall if Alaska has a Govenor's mansion or not since they move their capital each time the salmon run.

No, they do not move the capital. There has been talk of centralizing the capital in the matsu valley for years, but it has never happened.

Is there even any pretense at honesty with you or do you just spout off whatever idiot nonsense you can come up with and hope someone believes your childish, moronic, hysterical bull****?

And again, all of which was found to be within ethical standards and to be the practice of previous administrations.

Look you are the one who needs to grow up and stop your attempt to provoke by trolling. Speaking of trolling if you cannot understand that I was joking when I said that they time thier moving the capital to the salmon runs you ned to readjust mind a bit.

I was making fun about the movement since yes I was well aware that hey made many atatempts to have a movement..

Juneau Journal; Push to Move Alaska's Capital Has Central Theme - The New York Times

ALSO from WIKI

"Relocation controversy
In 1960, Anchorage Daily Times publisher Robert Atwood began an editorial push to relocate the capital somewhere nearer to commerce and the Alaskan mainstream. This effort culminated in ballot initiatives to move the capital to the "Cook Inlet-Railbelt area" (1960) and to "Western Alaska ... not within thirty miles of Anchorage" (1962). Both measures were defeated at the polls, but a third initiative in 1974 passed, followed by a 1976 ballot which selected Willow as the site of the new capital. In 1978 and 1982, however, measures to fund the relocation of the capital were defeated. Outgoing governor Jay Hammond, describing his administration's handling of the capital relocation question, said that in the end he was able to "lance this boil". [1] In 1994, a ballot initiative to move the capital to Wasilla was defeated, as was a 2002 measure to hold sessions of the state legislature in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. [2]

8k? I am a liberal. . ..

But I perceive that you are beginning
to search your feelings to know the truth.

Soon you will embrace the power of Conservatism
and then your journey towards the

Dark Side will be complete!

Only among the really ignorant ones. Igloos are a Canadian architectural phenomenon, not traditionally found in Alaska.

Carry on.

Thank you. But facts mean nothing to a good guffaw at one's own ignorance.
