I knew that Faux News was incompetent but I didn't realize just how incompetent.

Yep. Pretty incompetent.

According to the Huffington Post, Sanford called on Clinton to resign after the Monica Lewinsky affair came out. It will be interesting to see what he does as governor. Will he resign?

Frankly, I think he should resign. Not because of the affair but because he lied to the country, and he lied to his state. The changing of his story as to where he was is really offensive. It's one thing to lie to his wife. It's another thing to keep changing your story. Once you have shown that you are not to be trusted, you need to resign.

Plus the matter of his taxpayer-paid trips to Argentina, if they were indeed to visit his girlfriend.

I agree. THAT would really piss me off. I despise seeing people abuse public funds.

Re: South Carolina Governor Admits to Extramarital Affair

Sanford has consistently opposed any form of relationship recognition or even adoption rights for gay South Carolinians.

So... he advocates traditional relationships... one man, one woman, I assume.

Not only does Sanford oppose same-sex marriage, he also opposes civil unions as well as gay adoptions.

Another upstanding politician caught ignoring the values he claims to represent.

How on earth can you tie his position on gay marriage to him having an affair with a woman, and then state he's "ignoring the values he claims to represent"? That makes no sense.

Sanford should resign, and there should be an investigation into whether he used public money for his trips. If he did, then he should be tried for it.

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

In that case....the Republican party is the perfect group to be preaching on this issue....:doh

Another democrat who thinks Adultery is OK by his own admission, as long as you are not against it., :doh

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

Well, just looking at the last few years, at the GOP govs or senators that have had affairs: Vitter, Ensign, Sandford, Craig... Vs... Edwards.

Edwards, Spitzer, McGreevy, Paterson.

Please do some research before making these baseless hyper-partisan claims.

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

I think you know my opinions on politicians and affairs. Just in case you don't, I think it is none of our business. I actually kinda regret making this thread since it turned out to be a sex scandal.

However, the reason some of these comments are coming is because it is not just this guy, but a string recently of republicans. I think you have to admit that it looks bad.

McGreevy
Spitzer
Paterson
Edwards

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

SO I guess sex of a politician does matter now? Is this the official left wing stance?

And the prize for MISSING THE POINT goes to the Rev.

Sex isn't the problem, son. It's the abandoning of his state, the betrayal of his family (over Father's Day weekend, yet), the use of taxpayer funds... you know... all that stuff you FAMILY VALUES WINGNUTS place so much TREASURE in... except when it's one of your OWN caught with his dick in the zipper.

aps, I watched a clip last night of Sanford doing the very same thing you mentioned. That was 10 years ago, and it seems that either:

a) His opinion has changed now
b) He's a hypocrite

In any event, and after some thought, I do agree that he should resign. Not because of his affair (which is nobody's business), but because it has affected his work as a governor. He was caught in a lie, and should pay the consequences, let alone the possibility that he might have used tax payer money to fund his trip.

You need to check your fire on the name calling old man.

That said, I see you are one of the democrats who thinks adultery is ok, as long as you never spoke out against it. Pathetic. :2wave:

I find it funny how yesterday, none of you left wingers were really talking about the state fund angle, and all of the sudden, as soon as the daily kos, huf post, starts in on it, like stormtroopers you all decend.

YES he needs to resign, or be impeached for any misapropriaton of funds, and for the dishonesty in this matter.

Oh btw, do you have any links to your same condemnation of McGreevy, spitzer, Patterson, Ewdards? I'd hate for you to look hypocritical. :2wave:

Why would we think of the state fund angle if we hadn't been put on notice of it? Oh, and this left winger did say something about it last night. ;)

As to your YES paragraph--bravo to you (not that I am surprised by your statement).

I thought it IMMEDIATLY my dear friend. Much moreso than the affair thing. As SOON as I heard argentina.... As you stated, I am not suprised you thought this as well.

So you want to fault us because we're not as smart or fast thinking as you are. ;)

No, I don't fault you all at all. There are few that are as fast, or as great as the Good Reverend. It's my gift.... My curse.....

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

It took 3 posts for this thread to spiral into Partisan Hackery.

Thank you sir.
And yet here we are today... I think you owe Goldendog an apology since he was like Nostradamus on this one. :2wave:

Why dod you think that a blind squirrel finding a nut stopped he nonsense?

Re: SC governor's whereabouts unknown, even to wife

Well, of course there is a "chance".

There is a chance he decided to resign.

There is a chance he decided to have a sex change operation.

There is a chance he just became the president of Russia.
You left out - there is a chance he is another repub hypocrite who will get busted for cheating on his wife...

I guess I shouldn't go through all 8 pages slamming the cons for slamming the libs for being "partisan hacks" and conspiracy makers... I'll just say BOOYA!! another one bites the dust. Family values my ass. ****ing hypocrites. The repub party is DEAD!!

Agree completely.

He used state money it appears for his trips. He has caused an embarassment upon the Governorship of his state. He has lied to his constituents. And he has forgone the principles he campaigned upon that helped him get elected.

Its time to at least get back to some of those principles and be accountable and responsible and do the right thing. He should resign and if he does not he should be persona non grata with the Republican Party.

Perhaps you should read the 8 pages and actually respond to people that have already dealt with and spoken about the points you made instead of looking rather ignorant in your outlandish post.
