Per Miz Sanford and the gov's staff, he's out hiking, probably on the Appalachian trail...
That remains to be established. Furthermore, there is a fresh news report that suggests that the Governor may not have been on the Appalachian Trail. From Greenville's WYFF News 4 TV station:

On Tuesday, sources told News 4's Nigel Robertson that a state vehicle is missing and was tracked down, not to the Appalachian Trail, but to the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta.

Sources told Robertson that a federal agent spotted Sanford in the airport boarding a plane. Robertson was told that the governor was not accompanied by security detail.

It's really amusing to see a rabid liberal doing everything possible to smear someone he dislikes by implying that they're gay.

The AT starts not far from Atlanta.

As I mentioned, the GOB (Good Ol Boys) would love to smear Sanford, wouldn't be surprised if they're feeding the press anything that can be given a spin that makes him look bad.

If there's something weird actually going on, it will come out eventually I'm sure.

I completely agree, and if you or anyone else had posted that, I would have laughed. I just think it's extra amusing when it's coming from someone who would have yelled about racism if someone had responded to a story about obama going to dinner with a picture of black people eating fried chicken.

Especially with a picture of two bisexual movie characters.

    Have they found him yet?

Was one of the planks of his election manifesto, christian family values?

I don't want to derail the thread -- but that is a complete misunderstanding of Brokeback Mountain. The main characters were homosexuals forced by society to 'hide' in heterosexual relationships. The Heath Ledger Character couldn't stand having sex with his wife--it was implied that he fantasized about his male friend just to stay aroused.
