Her name was Neda - in death she is rallying cry for Iranian protests

'Neda' becomes rallying cry for Iranian protests
'Neda' becomes rallying cry for Iranian protests - CNN.com

The killing of this Iranian girl Neda very well may symbolize the eventual downfall of the rule of the rules of the Mullahs.

A twitter message said this "The World cries seeing your last breath, you didn't die in vain. We remember you."

There are turning points, starting points, and dramatic points in any revolution. This revolution against the Mullahs and for freedom by the Iranians may have turned toward a final conclusion when Neda died in her ownpool of blood in the street.

One tweeter wrote ""Neda, ojala que tu muerte no sea en vano," one poster tweeted. "Neda, I hope that your death is not in vain."

Her name was Neda. We have to hope that the young woman Neda did not die in vain.

    Her name was Neda

This is the only thing I have seen conservatives and liberals agree on in years. Vive la revolution! All the opposition was lacking was a galvanizing symbol of oppression. The hardliners are done for but I fear they may take thousands with them before it is over.

All freedom-loving Americans should support the Iranian people in their efforts to obtain freedom and democracy. I post this in green, in solidarity with the Iranian people!

NEDA was her name. Remember her.

I find that most of the regular people in this world want the same things and one of those things is for Government to stay out of their lives until it's time to do the primary job Government should be doing and that's standing up for the individuals human rights and safety. In my mind as the foremost Country that should be standing up for those right's and the right of self determination it is reprehensible that we have weak kneed leadrship that want's to kiss fellow Muslims rear ends rather than use the position to spread self determination and free speech world wide. As a country there is no Coutry on earth that we should fear for one minute because within minutes every country knows that if we are attacked the aggressor can be destroyed in only minutes. The problem we have today is the Dictator in Chief is a Marshmallow Milk Toast with no self respect who's slogan is "In weakness there is strength" or "I'd rather hide & talk while others die in a fight".

I hope that the very controlling theocratic rule that Iran has been under for the past years is overthrown... I hope the Iranian people get similar freedoms that we have (if they are willing). I just hope they get it soon, with less bloodshed. I try and talk to some of my buds here at college, some of these people don't even know what's goin on (Obviously I am not privy to a whole lot more info than they are, but it's still sad to see no one notices) I have to keep telling my roomates and they just kinda shrug it off like, "not my country, Don't care" that really irks me. Guess you can't make everyone care about what's going on internationally eh? I always have said "Apathy has always been man kinds worst enemy."

President Obama is doing the right thing by keeping his distance and toning down the rhetoric. For this revolution to be successful it must be seen as an Iranian movement. The second that there is even a hint of direct American involvement in this fight it is lost, not just now but for years to come and President Obama knows that.
BTW The right wing smear that President Obama is a Muslim has been debunked for a long time.

Mr.angry, Thank you for a voice of reason about what President Obama is doing vis a vis the progressive Iranian's fight with the hardline Mullahs. Your words "For this revolution to be successful it must be seen as an Iranian movement" are so true. I have stated that is other posts. Your voice is important to counterbalance the brum beat of partisan foolhardiness that thinks we need some false bravado of "bring it on Obdulh bring it on"

We Americans virtually always do support all peoples in their quest for freedom. We cannot always be active in our support from a government perspective because sometimes our government cannot be seen as outwardly supporting a movemnt as is in this case.

At other times we can sympathize but nothing else as was during the 1956 Hungaian revolt since that could have triggered a nuclear war. Other times we have to do it behind he scenes as when the Comminists were stoppped from taking over Greece after WW II.

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
