I hear you. But calling him out on this one particular thing (something so obviously security, national and personal, related) is B.S. -- IMO.

Go read the daily press briefing -- what exactly do think is being hidden from you that you need to know about?

I don't even care about this..so minor it should be one of the things he drops to at least look like he's trying to be transparant.

I was just defending the purpose of posting it from those saying we don't need to see this stuff!

Maybe who he's renting the Lincoln Bedroom to.

    Past that..nothing.
Now you just revealed you don't know what you're talking about.

Ask anyone who covers the WH to compare the application of the Freedom of Information Act -- then and now.

Friggin' walk-in safe in Dick's office!! The guy invented new categories of Top Secret and had new stamps made.

Tridad, please, bring some reality and logic to the table next time.

    Have a nice day --

Actually Hazllnut it has nothing to do with National security, to answer a question you ask under Mr. Clinton 2nd Term was the first time that the Guest List was not handed out, this came about the same time as a certain Sex Scandle you might recall that. Prio tot hat all White House Guest List were and had been handed out to the Press and or public. As a matter of point Mr. Reagan love to let everyone know who came by to see him.

As for all the new items that are being release not exactly true on that one either.

Here lies the problem folks it's not like I could care who goes and come's to the West Wing Hell I make the trip at least once a month the problem is this Mr. Obama made avery BIG POINT about how this White House was going ot be the most Open in History and so far that hasn't happen. That has allot of folks on both side calling foul the Left is screaming hey I thought you promise to let us see those Photo's/Documents from GITMO while the Right is screaming see so much for all of the Openess of this White House.

The bottom line is you can't go around claiming your going ot be one thing and then put the keibash on it.

n a move that puts a cloud over transparency, White House officials are blocking access to the lists of the names of visitors to the White House.

The practice, carried over from the Bush administration, argues the public does not need to know who comes calling at the Executive Mansion, even for policy purposes.

"We are deeply disappointed," said Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington spokeswoman Anne Weismann, whose group is suing to get the records.

"The president, who has committed his administration to transparency and accountability, now takes the position of the Bush administration that the public is not entitled to know who visits the White House. These are not the actions of a pro-transparency administration," she said.

Yep folks so much for Hope and Change didn't Mr, Obama stated that his White House would be the most open and transparent in History.

Hmmm guess that all went out the window on Jan. 21 2009 so all of you who voted for Mr. Obama care to comment on this or spin it in the way you feel needed.
I'm annoyed by this. He should explain why he has changed his tune. I am okay with him blocking access if he has a valid reason. We can all talk about what we would do if we were Prez, but we really don't know until we're there. But if I said something and then did something else, I would explain why I did something else. That is transparency.

Who cares? This is a non-issue.

    Stop. Explain that statement.

The President, commander and chief of the U.S. military, his daily meetings do not have anything to do with National Security.

Defend that statement. Then I'll read the rest of your post.

Aps, it was at least partly explained in the article linked.

CREW received a letter from the Secret Service saying it was unable to provide the records due to pending litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that CREW already filed.

The White House Guest List is just that a list of folks who come and go to the West Wing it really doesn't have anything to do with National Security the NSA/NSC/CIA/FBI/DoD folks all come thru another entrance to the White House.

The OP is about the fact that the Guest List hasn't been released and that the Secret Service declared it a Security Risk which it isn't trust me my name is on that list and I'm far from any Security Risk
