CREW received a letter from the Secret Service saying it was unable to provide the records due to pending litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that CREW already filed.

    He "never noticed"?

(Point of the OP's post is the claims of transparancy Obama made are nonsense)
Nice dodge on the question: How is this different than other Presidents?

It's so f-ing annoying when people can't even acknowledge the legitimate security issues here and jump all over the word 'transparency'.

Instead of seeing all the documents and information now available under the new information -- you focus on something that has not changed.

Could you be anymore overly partisan?

I ask you folks once more - What change?
Hmmmm...Reagan was born in the US. Obama was born in the US. They must be the same too.

Picking one similarity and saying that because of it there is no change overall is silly.

I personally don't think this is a big deal, but do you see how some Obama supporters might be upset by this, as it does appear to fly in the face of his "transparency" promise during the campaign? I know some of them are upset, in fact.

What other President made a central campaign slogan Transparancy?
Why are you dragging past Presidents into this anyway?

Why are you sidestepping the issue at hand by pointing at past Presidents or claiming your annoyed others have some nefarious goal besides pointing out the obvious BS of Obama.

Could you be anymore overly partisan?
I suppose I could become a Republican or something but I'm independent and will be forever.

But look at the amount of new information that has been made available since day one. Restrictions on documents have been loosen greatly.

How can people not see the obvious security and privacy issues here?

The majority of his meetings are in a daily press release.

Probably for the same reason these same people couldn't see it when the Bush administration restricted the same visitor logs.

Was this the SOP prior to Bush? (I don't know the answer, just wondering)

There's legal issues here too. Any executive has to be able to have privileged meetings. That and personal business.

That can be challenged on an issue by issue basis -- but to say that President Obama is breaking a promise because of this -- not even close, IMO.

I don't know if it is SOP or not. I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Again, I don't care either way, I can just relate what I've read by progressives regarding this specific issue, and many aren't happy. Heck, I never figured he'd keep any of his promises, anyway. He is a politician, after all.

Yeah we got 10 mostly blacked out pages Obama used to bash Bush followed by 'oh no we can't release the other pages'...

    Past that..nothing.
Its even worse with the spending and when you get to CEO Obama's car companies.

That other President in the past may have restricted in the same manner is irrelevant. They didn't make a claim.
Even the direct act in this case is irrelevant.

Obama made a claim and so far he hasn't backed it up past using it to bash Bush and that garnered him a public rebuke.
