McCain: Iran Election "Corrupt"

That's hilarious.

The US Gov't is one of the most corrupt governing bodies in the world!!

guess who is praising Obama’s approach and saying Obama’s right to refrain from McCainian chest-thumping: George W. Bush’s top negotiator with Iran, Ambassador Nicholas Burns.

In an interview today with NPR, Burns praised Obama’s handling of the crisis, and said that a more aggressive response would actually play into the hands of President Ahmadinejad.

President Ahmadinejad would like nothing better than to see a very aggressive series of statements by the United States that would try to put the U.S. in the center of this,” Burns said. “And I think President Obama is avoiding that quite rightly.”

“This is not a dispute for the U.S. to be the center of,” Burns said at another point. “It’s up to Iranians to decide who Iran’s future leaders will be. He said he respects Iran’s sovereignty. I think it was important to do that.”

Bush’s Man In Iran Lauds Obama’s Handling Of Iran Crisis | The Plum Line

When the BBC can't figure out where he stands he stands on nothing.

Obama does nothing but aggrandize himself at the expense of others.
This case its Democracy/Freedom/US Principles
In Iraq its our Soldiers/Allies/Civilians
In the "WORLD" its the USA.

If the "leaders" call for US support the US will not be there..its too busy powdering its babies butt for the cameras.

Obama made clear that official US policy is to talk talk talk just like he wants and nothing else.
He blew air in his comments and offically pushed for talks while the protester situation is in flux.

Whats more important to him catz..the potential to support an Iranians coup..OR his picture in papers talking to Iran?
Which one is it?...based on the evidence its the later.

Least some of the media is finally starting to call BS BS. Or at least as with the BBC(of all places) not covering him in flowers but pointing out that he said nothing.

Anyway..

SO Kandahar..when?

Bush's former ambassador to Iran made it very clear that now is not the time for Obama to "do something" other than what he's done.

I'm sorry you're unhappy that Obama isn't the president, but this isn't a partisan issue. He's played it right on this one...so far.

Mr. Obama added: “When I see violence directed at peaceful protesters, when I see peaceful dissent being suppressed, wherever that takes place, it is of concern to me and it is of concern to the American people. That is not how governments should interact with their people.”

Mr. Obama also said that “something has happened in Iran,” leading to “a questioning of the kinds of antagonistic postures towards the international community that have taken place in the past. That there are people who want to see greater openness and greater debate and want to see greater democracy. How that plays out over the next several days and several weeks is something for the Iranian people to decide.”

From Obama's press conference today with South Korean president Lee Myung-bak.

He's doing it right.

Publicly..Iranians make own decision we do nothing. USA is a burden.
Privately... Ignore them the talks are all that matters.

He's doing right!!

Hopefully Biden will become President. Be nice to have an American President.
Hell it would be nice to have Hillary Clinton right now..even her screw ups would make Obama's so called decisions look childish.

U.S. State Department speaks to Twitter over Iran | Industries | Technology, Media & Telecommunications | Reuters

Obama intervenes, asks Twitter to delay scheduled maintenance to keep Iranian lines of communication open

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department contacted the social networking service Twitter over the weekend to urge it to delay a planned upgrade that could have cut daytime service to Iranians, a U.S. official said on Tuesday.

"We highlighted to them that this was an important form of communication," said the official of the conversation the department had with Twitter at the time of the disputed Iranian election. He declined further details.

Ok when is the deadline on this for you.

I want some realistic deadline not oh when the sky is colored blue and bam flies by your window on fairy wings.

Iran has until date x to stop or else.

When is that...?

To stop what? Or else what?

Negotiations already failed. You like many others who argue the same way you are ignore that.
SO DUH I don't want more talks, more fake promises, more empty words, more high minded nonsense the time for talking is over.

What do you propose to do?

Triad said:
Every damn year Iran says UP YOURS, DEATH TO THE JEWS ,DEATH TO AMERICA, supplies terrorist etc..... and continue processing nuclear material while obviously to any idiot trying to make a weapon.

I've heard their buffoonish president say such things a few times, but I have never heard Iran (or any other nation) say a word. I thought only humans could talk, but apparently I was wrong.

As for their nuclear program, it will be almost impossible to stop them since the nuclear research has broad popular support among Iranians, who view it as a symbol of national pride. However, it might be possible to dissuade them from actually producing a weapon. That might not be the answer you want, but it's about the best outcome you're going to get.

Triad said:
IMO Obama and probably you will do this every year until Iran gets a nuclear weapon and then turn right around and say well we can't do anything about it now.
IOW its stops when Iran gets what it wants.

What do you propose to do?

It probably took you longer to write that smartass sentence than it would have taken you to answer the question.

Cease doing what? And what will I do if Iran does not meet my demands to cease doing whatever?

Question is simple.

Question is simple.

And once again, it took you just as long as to write a smartass response as it would have taken you to define the terms of your question. I'm not going to play games. If you actually have a question that you would like me to answer, you can ask it. But I'm not going to try to guess what you're talking about.

IOW you don't have one.
Even Obama has a tentative one.

Like I said, I'm not going to play games. I'm not going to guess what you're talking about. I'm not going to give you a timeline for Iran to stop doing X, or else Y, until you define X and Y.

If you actually want an answer, you can clarify your question. Otherwise, I'm done. :2wave:
