We have such short memories. Does anyone remember the "Battle in Seattle" over NAFTA, GATT-TRIPS. Hundreds arrested, tear gas, riot batons...... Or Bush's Innauguration, both times? There were huge protests, but little violence.
Anyway, back to Iran. There are riots outside of Parliament right now. The death of Neda has seemed to galvanize the Iranian women and there is a revitalization of the protest. They're still insisting on a new election, not a recount. It's gaining momentum again because of the women.
There's an old Tsitsisis saying (Cheyenne): A Nation can only be defeated when the hearts of it's women are lying on the ground.
