Not a civil war, a rebellion. It's happened before in Iran. Remember 1979? There is a "Velvet Revolution" in Iran right now. And the government has sworn to crush it. That is the mistake that will spell their downfall. The student movement will prevail again, only this time for a better Iran.

Riots and riot police are not a "Velvet Revolution". This is more Romania than Czechoslovakia.

First of all, don't waste your time trying to school me on this. I'm well aware of what a Velvet Revolution is.

I'm not referring to these particular riots as a Velvet Revolution. I'm referring to the underground movement by reformers within the religious and academic communities in Iran. The student movements. Quiet, peaceful rebellion to the theological dictatorship that is running Iran. It's widespread and it's an obvious threat to the Iranian government.

At least it's a good thing to know that America isn't the only government which is corrupt.
Well, in the 2000 election, the bad guys trying to steal the presidential election lost.

Hopefully Ahmadaboudajihad will fail just like the Democrats did.

If Mousavi was arrested by the Mullah mafia I think that in the long run this will come back to bite the Hullah Mullahs in the backside of their robes. Such an act is political foolishness in the long run.

Look at all of the scum bucket countries and empires that surpressed freedoms of their pple - USSR, ETC ventually the scum buckets lose.
I would hope that you have some idea about that which you speak before you speak.

This either dies down quickly or boils over into full-on rebellion.

Can any news sources confirm Perham's report? I haven't seen any yet.

Edit to add: Glad Perham's ok. Tell him to keep his head down and avoid random flying bullets.

Here is a link to a story which confirms rioting in Tehran, Shiraz, Mashad and Rasht. I sure hope the rioting continues to spread and grow in intensity. Ahmademonjihad, the supreme leader Ali Khamenei need to be removed from power. The Iranian velvet rvolution is growing stronger as time goes on. Irans young long for freedom. They out number the theocrats and if they are not all rounded up, imprisoned or executed then eventually freedom will come to Iran.

I wouldn't count on it. These sort of mass protests tend to peter out after a few days/weeks a lot more often than they result in the collapse of the government. My guess is that the theocracy will restore order, although I would like to be proven wrong on this.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.
