Administration: Rein in pay in US private sector

There is no "I'll complain when it hurts me", there is a "I'll complain when he actually does something wrong". There are more than a few things he has done wrong, that is what makes all these nothing threads so bad, they draw attention away from the real things.

You don't get to set new rules after you give out a loan. Banks can't do that. The government called it a loan yet they're acting like it was an outright purchase. That's the problem.

Hoover is still waiting for your response.

Ah yes, so the private sector is above criticism and no suggestions shall be taken or given in regards to that.

Sounds like conservatives are the ones acting Fascist saying that Obama is not allowed to make suggestions.

The 3rd Reich (AKA conservative movement) has spoken and Obama should obey.

Yes, how DARE those DASTARDLY American Citizens state what they want their ELECTED officials that are PUBLIC servents to do. What god damn fascists they are. The Voting Public shoudln't express a dislike or disagreement with ELECTED officials that are PUBLIC SERVENTS; everyone knows you're only supposed to do that to PRIVATE business that individuals and government officials have no actual logistical direct ties to. Jesus you ****ing nazi right wingers, get a clue!

You need to study up on fascism.

Fascism is Dear Leader making those "suggestions". Which is why Dear Leader needs to shut his damn word-hole (that and the fact that he's a blithering idiot).

When you are saying someone doesn't have a right to speak, that is Fascist and that is what you are saying to Obama.

The 3rd reich righties have spoken. Good thing their typically ignored.

Hoover's suggestions during the beginning of the Depression led to businesses keeping up wages despite not having the money. They were led to believe that by doing this, that they would see an increase in business: that prosperity was brought about by high wages and not the other way around. What it caused instead was massive unemployment and a huge rise in part-time workers. It was a disaster: it was all a suggestion.

Umm suggesting something is not a bad thing. If others choose to take your suggestion, then that is on them.

I see you fail at accepting the idea of personal responsibility. Hoover didn't cause it, the companies that took his advice were to blame.

^^So telling the government that it can't talk to business is fascist, and actually talking to the government is fascist.

Everything is fascist!

See, there's a little bit of something called pressure when the president is telling you to do something.

If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. The President is not a king, and if others don't have the balls to stand up for what they believe in that is THEIR FAULT.

Hey, that is not the same thing. That is setting limits for companies that took TARP funds. Nice try, but fail.

"Gene Sperling, a counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, said administration guidelines call on all publicly held companies to link compensation to long-term performance, not short-term gains."

ALL PUBLICLY HELD COMPANIES.

Not just TARP-babies.

Come complain when they don't stop, I will agree with you. Getting upset because Obama might do something, maybe, at some time in the future, possibly, maybe...well, it seems to be a waste of effort.

So we shouldn't complain until after he ruins us?

^^So telling the government that it can't talk to business is fascist, and actually talking to the government is fascist.

Everything is fascist!

If you don't know the difference between telling and suggesting, this conversation is hopeless. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE, then come back.

If they do, I will happily join with you in complaining about it. I will do something unique though and wait to complain till they actually do it. We seem to get three threads a day from people complaining about things Obama might do.

You mean you're going to wait until it's too late, then refuse to take the shower?

So we shouldn't complain until after he ruins us?

Of course not. We should complain when he actually does something. This is nothing, not something.

If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. The President is not a king, and if others don't have the balls to stand up for what they believe in that is THEIR FAULT.

See, but here's the thing, all of this doesn't even matter. The president causes changes through suggestions, suggestions for the worse. This is why the president should not be suggesting.

When you are saying someone doesn't have a right to speak, that is Fascist and that is what you are saying to Obama.
Dear Leader isn't "someone", he's "government". So, no, he does not have a right to speak, and no, that is not fascism.

Learn to do what Dear Leader has never done.....homework.

Of course not. We should complain when he actually does something. This is nothing, not something.

First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.

It was "nothing" at first back then, as well. History does not look kindly on your insistent ostrich-ism.

He has not come for the communists yet....

I'm having to ask myself if you're intentionally being naive, if you're just ignorant of this, or if its something else but let me try to illustrate it for you.

There are two people, both are making a suggestion that you move out of your house.

One comes to your door, knocks on it, and goes "hey, I'd like to use your land, will you move out of your house?"

The other comes to your door, knocks on it, has a pistol on his hip, a knife on his side, and two guys behind him with shock guns, and goes "We'd like to have your land. We're not going to take it, but we highly suggest you move out of it."

By the way you're talking here, those things apparently seem EXACTLY the same to you.

The GOVERNMENT....most specifically the President of the United States of America...giving people a suggestion like this is FARRRRR different than some random ass citizen saying "we think this should happen". This goes doubly when these people aren't simply speaking of their personal views, but speaking from the standpoint of the administration, IE the Government.

A suggestion, with the possible threat of force if said suggestion is not followed, is intimidation not just simply a suggestion.

Obama knows best children.
Hm.

What's it called when the state takes over an industry?

What's it called again whent The state owns the means of producing and distribuing wealth, and redistributes weath through the welfare system?

Put them together -- don't you get nationalism/socialism?

Hm.

He has not come for the communists yet....
No, just corporate CEOs. He most assuredly has come for them. He fired Rick Waggoner, remember? And now he's targeting every other exec's pocketbook.

Dear Leader has come for the corporate CEOs. Dear Leader has come for automobile companies. Dear Leader has come for foreign companies seeking to do business in the US.

Next he will come for energy companies. Next he will come for doctors and healers. Next he will come for small business people. In the ineptitude and evil of his agenda he has explicitly stated his intent to come for all of these, and more.

When he finally comes for you, who will be left to hear your complaints?

Fascism is a lot like socialism, despite what the revisionists say.
