BBC NEWS | Americas | Scientist 'lone anthrax attacker'A US scientist who killed himself last week was the sole person responsible for the deadly anthrax attacks in 2001, new FBI papers allege.
Dr Bruce Ivins alone controlled flask RMR1029, used in the attack, could not account for unusual overtime in labs and issued death threats, the FBI says.
The anthrax-laced letters killed five people, made another 17 sick, and unsettled a nation traumatised by 9/11.
Dr Ivins, 62, died shortly after being told he was about to be charged.
The FBI had been under pressure since his death to reveal the details of the investigation and its papers were unsealed by a judge on Wednesday.
FBI director Robert Mueller briefed the victims and their families about the case before publication.
In a news conference later, the US attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeffrey Taylor, said: "We consider Dr Ivins was the sole person responsible for this attack."
The papers say Dr Ivins had possession of anthrax spores with "certain genetic mutations identical" to those used in the sole deadly biological attack on US soil.

I have a feeling given the back channeling and measures being taken to prohibit the release of these photos that they may make Abu Ghraib look like a physical by a doctor. I would also bet that the 'safety of the soldiers' line is being disgustingly politicized in an effort to present a case where if one opposes they appear to be not supportive of the troops.
This has the potential to shake the nation and the military to the core.
I am however opposed to their release at this time due to the concern of the safety of the servicemen currently serving and those who will serve in the future.
An additional important matter to be considered is how Abu Ghraib was used by Al-Qaeda as a very effective recruitment tool. Another potentially disastrous event such as this could erase much of the progress we have made in quelling the violence in Iraq and would certainly make Obama's recent speech in Cairo appear hypocritical and of little substance. There are a lot of people who would have much to lose by the release of these photos right now.
Abu Ghraib was improperly handled at multiple levels. I hope that they can get it right and hold those responsible for these acts.

Jallman and I disagree on almost everything, but he is not meaning "your boy" as racist. I'm quite sure the term "Your boy" is how others said the same thing to him regarding Bush.
I've known many racists in my time and Jallman isn't one of them.
Racism is BAD, I will agree. However, jumping to conclusions and accusing that someone may be racist is equally bad IMHO.
EDIT: It's like saying that someone who is black is a criminal.

AFAIK they are simply more of the same photos.I have a feeling given the back channeling and measures being taken to prohibit the release of these photos that they may make Abu Ghraib look like a physical by a doctor.
IOW photos taken by the yahoos at Abu Ghraib...
This is not a new case filed by the ACLU just recently..its years old.
No argument here for me. Releasing anything like this is simply giving propaganda to the enemy that will aid him in recruitment and a crime against those fighting for us.
If someone doesn't get that basic reality of warfare they need to be smacked upside the head until they do. In this Obama got good and smacked..even he woke up.
