Set up a thread if you want to dicuss this topic further, wouldnt be wise for us to derail the topic any further.

I have to say that I found this story amusing, as well, when I read it.

Being an American, I don't have much direct interest in whether the BNP is allowed to be vocal or not. Generally, we believe in the right to free speech in these parts. But I support pelting them with eggs at any given opportunity. After all, if I was caught spouting such tripe I would fully expect to be pelted with eggs as a result.

In general, I support the pelting of people with eggs, pies, tomatoes, shoes and other such yielding items as a form of protest. It's tradition, godammit.

In France politicians and other public figures are victims of the Belgian entarteur (pie thrower) NoŽl Godin and his team.

It's usually eggs or rotten tomatoes with us but recently a green activist threw I think some green custard over Mandelson. She was later arrested and there was some ho ha at her being able to get so close and not being arrested at the time.

Days have changed. These sort of things used to be much more common. A few years ago someone threw an egg at our then deputy Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott and he responded immediately with a punch.
