Bummer, Chinese Commies Buy HUMMER

AS I understand this, the deal in place keeps Hummers parts contracts intact(I cannot find where I read that yet though, I am looking to confirm). This means that lots of nonunion jobs are possibly saved as well.
 
But a non-union job isn't necessarily any better. They're still producing cars which don't bring a great return (if any at this point).

Not sure I get that. What this is, is merely an extension of Chinese firms acquiring foreign subsidiaries. China's been fully capitalist for at least 20, if not 30 years. Hardly "opening up."

I don't like it. Letting the CHinese buy that company is a mistake. It gives them the ability to control the replacement parts for humvees. This means the Chinese can reasonably figure out what state of repair U.S. military vehicles are in.

It also gives the Chinese control over part of the economy.

It's a bad idea and it needs to be stopped.

Tell the Chinese to **** off and die.
 
Try not to be too sad over the demise of the Hummer or in it's being taken over by the Chinese. Other than the resemblance to the real off road warrior the Humvee they have almost nothing in common and as 4 wheel drive vehicles go the hummer is way down on the list when it comes to it over all utility.
I believe it has been pointed out here already that it's a glorified GM Suburban.
I have even seen there is a kit to transform and 87 Suburban into a Hummer look-a-like.
If you want to go off roading go pick up an old Jeep C-J anything or an old International Scout with a 4cyl. engine they would climb a telephone pole if they could get traction. Or buy the real deal a true Am General Humvee and go any place you want. Just be sure to buy some Gerry cans for extra gas. You're going to need it brother. lol

Humvee is owned by AM General not GM.

Humvee =/= Hummer

This sale does not give the Chinese control over anything related to the military. At best, it gives them undue influence with douchebags from jersey.

They are only Communist if you use the definition made to vilify Communism as a whole. But that definition defines Communism as anything and everything alleged Communist countries have attempted. Which includes capitalism and democracy, thus rendering by transitive logic, the United States a Communist nation.

China is Communist in name only. A class society, ruled by the few practicing Capitalism is not Communist. Go read up on Marx.

On the contrary, it gives American bondholders of Hummer another source to squeeze money from when Hummer soon enters chapter 7 bankruptcy. More money for American bondholders at the expense of another country, not something I see as bad.

You're thinking of the H1, not the H2 or H3. The latter two models, which make up the vast majority of Hummer sales, are no larger than any other SUV/truck -- the H3 is no larger than a mid-sized pick-up or minivan.
