That's a cop out, and a load of horse manure to boot. That's like refusing to smack the school bully because "fighting never solves anything", then standing by wailing helplessly while said bully helps himself to your lunch money.
Your the one slinging horse manure here. And it's your attitude that is a detriment this country right now. Rising above the mud to treat our captives with some level of decency, to honor human rights is not copping out. What Redress said in no way equates to your nonsensical assertion.
We have captured the enemy, disarmed them, and they are now our prisoner. We've done something and the threat they posed has been neutralized. Now we treat them like humans, despite their crimes, and we try them. If our case is sound they will be convicted. And the threat will remain neutralized.
We do not honor the human rights of our citizens simply because they are citizens. We honor them because we have an obligation as a civilized nation to act civilized.
Every time you spout garbage that equates observing human rights to "doing nothing about the enemy" you make yourself look foolish. Torturing the enemy or treating them inhumanely is not fighting them. Your analogy is illogical and very disingenuous.
