Obama's Great-Uncle Says President Visiting Concentration Camp Site for 'Political Reasons' - Political News - FOXNews.com

President Obama's scheduled visit to a former Nazi concentration camp is being done for "political reasons," the president's great-uncle -- who helped liberate that camp -- said in a recent interview.

Obama plans to visit Germany's Buchenwald site as part of his multi-country tour, which begins this week.

Charles Payne, Obama's great-uncle who helped liberate a sub-camp of Buchenwald during World War II, spoke frankly about the visit in an interview with Germany's Der Spiegel magazine.

Alright I'm going to have to disagree with Mr. Obama Great-Uncle on this one, I think every President of World Leader when they go to Poland or Germany must pay a visit to any of the Concentration Camps only to see for themself's the horror and to reafreme to do everything in their power to never let this happen again.

Ummmm....every politician's visit to historical sites is usually for political reasons. Just saying. It's to create a rapport with the people you're visiting. It's kind of like going to your the house of a friend who you haven't seen in a while and them showing you around then talking about buying their car.

    Non-issue really.

So I wonder what role Mr. Payne plays in planning President Obama's trip itineraries and public relations strategies?

Re: Obama's Great-Uncle Says President Visiting Concentration Camp Site for 'Politica

I stand corrected the picture I saw yesterday was of a black man which made this all true too bad who I saw must have been in Kenya,
I was wrong and admit it. The fact he was white changes nothing but the fact the camp was liberated before our troops got there.

The whole story of Obama's uncle having anything what ever to do with the Liberation is questionable when compared to some of the facts. Such as the first soldiers who arrived at the Buchenwald camp on April 11, 1945 were with the 6th Armored Division of the US Third Army. The camp had been liberated by the prisoners 4 hours pior to their arrival.
The American army was segregated during World War II, with white soldiers fighting in exclusively white divisions while black and Asian soldiers had their own separate divisions, commanded by white officers.

Five days after the first white soldiers were on the site, on April 17, 1945, several black soldiers were sent to Buchenwald to deliver some supplies. For most of the liberated prisoners, this was the first time they had ever seen a black man, and many of them would recall it later in their survivor accounts.

So they did not help to liberate the camp as claimed from I could tell. I knew George Patton's Driver, his name was Coiner he was my Boss for 14 years. Black guys were cooks and supply truck drivers not involved in combat generally.
Sorry Obama join Pelosi in the liars club.

Political reasons? Is Obama trying to shore up the anti-Nazi vote? He's about 70 years too late.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

If Obama did NOT visit the concentration camp, his critics would be all over him, asking "why not?" Since he's going, they're all over him for doing it for "political reasons."

The Tuskegee Airmen would like to have a word with you.
Jackboots always come in matched pairs, a left boot and a right boot.
