Seems ridiculous to me but what do i know.

Sounds like racism to me and is unfair. Well judge screwed up this time.
Don't misunderstand. Right now among a certain group of people there is a huge backlash against having a black man dare to be president, and this group of people seem to see everything positive said or done in regards to a minority as somehow reverse racism or whatever.

This case, as best I can tell from the information available looks to have been handled poorly, but this idea that minorities can get away with anything under President Obama or that the way to get ahead in President Obama's white house is to hate white people(Rush Limbaugh quote) is just sour grapes by some white folks.

If you where black, and living in this country, as a general rule you are still worse off than white folks.

We can all remember the false outrage the left exhibited upon hearing the phony reports of voter suppression of blacks in Miami when Al Gore tried to steal the White House. Why are the people on the left acting differently now? (a completely rhetorical question, leftists are racists).

No, I would feel no differently!! This is a miscarriage of justice, but that happens every day, and I need to prioritize my outrage!! I save it for more important things, than a few morons acting like morons. I wonder how you cons get through the day??? How do you have time for life, when you are so busy being outraged over everything!?!?!?!? I save my outrage for far more serious problems, like both parties being complicit in giving a few trillion tax payer dollars to rich corporations who were the ones who ****ed the economy up in the first place!!

I apologize sincerely that my level of outrage does not meet your expectations, but I have things to do. I don't have time to be outraged over every injustice which takes place. I only have so much outrage to go around!!

meh, can't be that huge as Obama got elected. I think there's a huge backlash against double standards, affirmative action, and all other such nonsense and rightly so and I think all that came before Obama. People are just happier to bitch about it now freely as the fact that our President is black puts a rest to all such, "we're a racist racist nation" claims that previously silenced rational dissent.

If you where black, and living in this country, as a general rule you are still worse off than white folks.
If you're poor you're screwed no matter what color you are. If you're born into a home with sufficient money, decent parents, in a solid neighborhood you'll likely be fine no matter what color you happen to be.

    Not relevant in this case.

I see you're defending the vote suppressing racists.

No, it's just a recognition of how the racists that dominate the mainstream media and the Democrat party operate.

Or are you going to try to deny that if Robert KKK Byrd was a Republican he'd have been allowed to stay in office and talk about "white niggers" on national TV without persistent demands for his resignation?

If someone is black living in the United States and their economic position is worse than the median, then they need to get off their dead asses and work to improve their lives, not sit around whining about how "whitey" ain't treating them right.

All I'm really seeing in your post is that if anyone dares object to reverse racism, they're nothing but bigots that hate The Messiah.

Maybe I was not clear. The backlash has been since he was elected.

This is mostly true, though I would suspect that the black in a decent home would have a slightly harder time than a white, due to societal attitudes. Thankfully though, we are a lot better than we used to be in that regards.

That's okay. Being from California, where we're under a constant barrage of "conserve everything but taxpayer dollars", I understand where you're coming from. You have a limited supply of outrage, so you're not going to waste a drop of it on a government action that endorses the suppression of the white vote by black gangster. No, you're going to hang onto your outrage until something serious happens, like when white firemen refuse to rescue a black kitten in a tree.

Not worry, many of us understand you completely.

Gimme a break. People would be just as upset about Pink Panther freaks wielding sticks outside a polling place and the courts poo pooing it away under any President. It's just now they'll voice it because at a certain point, "You racist!" looses it's effect in a country with an African American POTUS.

This is a pile of b.s. and I'd be offended if I were black to hear such dribbling nonsense.

Better go back and look again. I agree with you on this case. I also added that alot of the outrage is a backlash to a black president. I also offered solid examples(Rush saying that to get ahead in the Obama white house you have to hate whites).

You don't think so? You don't think that there are not people who see black kids and think "criminal"? You don't think that this is more common than people seeing white kids and thinking "criminal"? I think both are much rarer than it used to be, but I don't think it is entirely eliminated.

You're being unfair. I understand where he is coming from. As with most of us, he applies outrage to those harms he deems greatest. I do wish voter intimidation were higher ranked in his list of offenses, but I do at least respect him for not engaging in the apologetic contortions some do on this matter. He says it is wrong, but he wishes to devote his energies elsewhere. I have not read him justifying and rationalizing the matter away; I disagree with his prioritizations but I happily give him that much commendation.
