"US violated Geneva Conventions" - Gen Petraeus

"TRUMPED UP CRAP" sounds like Bush and Cheney's justification for invading Iraq and torturing and raping people.

Please stick to the subject at hand...

The Geneva Conventions, did the US break them.

You can leave the partisan crap at home.

Military personnel do not comment in public on policy, and do not criticize the Commander-in-Chief in public. Not ever. Petraeus should not be offering up such evaluations to the media--not while he's on active duty and holding a commission in the US Army.

So why is it when Petraeus was giving praise to Bush policy's was he taken as credible, but now that he is doing the same with Obama he isn't credible?

Oh yeah, I forgot, Dem president, so some righties have to undermine the presidency any way they can.
I don't see anyone questioning his credibility.
I see questions of judgment, and application.

We'll leave the slander, the Betrayus moments to you folks.

We very easily could. Apparently we just don't learn our lessons.

Yeah, like this comment?

Yeah, you guys don't slander  Keep dreaming.

Maybe you would like to point out where I have called Petrayus a jackass or slandered him. Here's a hint, you can't because I haven't.

It's funny to watch you throw Petrayus under the bus when he disagrees with you.

Please go back and read post 89 in which I stated from the same article that the Good general can't even name one item the US Violated.

wow, so now words spoken by General Betray-us are solid gold facts on their face.

I guess Obama really did bring CHANGE

As already stated, there's the letter of the law, and the spirit of the law, and neither should be ignored OR twisted to suit one's agenda. In its attempts to excuse/justify torture, Bushco is relying on people like you to dismiss the meaning and intent behind the words.
the letter of the law is the law
the spirit of the law is ones twisting of the law to fit their views/agenda

That's how you conservatives treated his words under Bush.

funny how the lefts opinion of him changes when he says something you can twist into agreeing with your supposition

Funny how as some one on the left, my opinion of him is pretty unchanged. I liked him when I disagreed with him on Iraq, I hated the MoveOn add, I like him now.

Whats funny is the Good general can't name one item we violated under the Geneva Accords but I guess all of you missed that part of the story correct.:2wave:

Can't, or didn't? Significant difference there.

Is that a Blue Angel in your signature?

Can you post a link that shows that somebody actually asked him that specific question?

Dog from the story,

Petraeus didn’t say which parts of the Geneva Conventions he thought he and other administration officials had violated.

You are relying on pure speculation. There is a difference between "not naming" and "not being able to name."

That doesn't mean he doesn't know. That simply means he didn't say specifically in that interview.

It goes both ways, Republicans and conservatives touted how great and smart the man was and that we should believe him because he is "on the ground" so to speak.

So to quote you:

Works just as well for Republicans and conservatives coming from YOUR words.
I haven't said whether I believe him or not, but your representatives ran him through the ringer before he even testified. Don't try that reverse **** on me, Republicans didn't sit there an tear the man down like Hillary Clinton, and I'm thinking even our current VP.

Repeating yourself three or four times does not make your point valid. You are assuming much more than you should based on a negative.
